Amazing video. Watched the whole thing! Botw and Elden ring are also 2 of my favourite games. I think one of the strongest points of botw (and elden ring to a degree) is its non lineair story. You touched on it a lil bit. But i still feel like it goes underappreciated a bit. Where in every other open world game you go from point a to b to c to get the main story in botw you can do it at your own pace, your own order. Skip some points orr skip it completely. This made it so it didnt feel like you were going the wrong way. Hell 95% of the game is optional. Same with Elden Ring. And man am I hyped for TotK, looks like we have even more freedom.

Yeah that’s an aspect of why I love the narratives in these games. And thank you I appreciate the feedback!

@@SuperThisWay I really like the passion you have for a lot of the things you talk about. I’ve always wanted to make video essays like this with stuff i like too whether it be games or music, what did you use to edit this? And generally how long did it take you just out of curiosity
@SuperThisWay Жыл бұрын
@@Dumbmidwestmusic Happy to talk about this stuff! I use a Mac so I have Final Cut Pro which is pretty great as a one time purchase and you can really do a whole lot with it. There are other video editing programs you can use like Premiere (subscription service tho) and Davinci Resolve. As far as how long it takes to make a video...that's a loaded question lol. It can take hours depending on what kinda video you want to make. This video took me quite a while mostly cause it was a long video to put together. The most recent videos I made have basically followed this process: playing the video game and capturing game footage, writing the script, recording the VoiceOver lines, editing the VoiceOver to get the general idea of the flow of the video, and then putting the video clips altogether. As far as the hardest part? I would say for me is just making the video. Perfect is the enemy of good so I struggle with spending a lot of time trying to make (in my eyes) perfect videos but there's no such thing. Just make the video! I would say go for it! Make a video! It anything it's at least a fun and creative thing to do! And if you make a video send me a link! I'll be happy to watch it.

I loved elden ring and would try botw if it wasn’t Nintendo exclusive
@jaydox3836 Жыл бұрын
Try botw, it will likely entertain you for 400 hours just like elden ring did for me
@SuperThisWay Жыл бұрын
If you ever get the chance, try it! It’s unique enough from Elden Ring as far as gameplay but has the exploration down for sure. And same thing like Elden Ring where there isn’t a wrong answer to beating enemies or progressing through the game
@piedaterre8843 Жыл бұрын
Yea, i wish Nintendo were just a game development company, I own one simply because of zelda (athough Mario odyssey was killer as well); Ive always purchased their systems just because of zelda-lol
@piedaterre8843 Жыл бұрын
because i loved botw, i so badly wanted to like eldin ring. I think it was the lack of puzzles or anything other than combat really that drove me away; it just seemed like an endless queue of enemies to kill- I just loved the physics based world of botw and when eldin ring's world was just a backdrop compared to zelda, I lost interest.-I plan to give it another go. I am open minded on this
@SuperThisWay Жыл бұрын
Yeah something I did miss is that while these games have the same feelings of a vast open world and exploring it, they tackle it differently due to Zelda being more relaxing and serene and Elden Ring being just a punishment masochist nightmare
