I'll be posting a couple of these, to see how the voice acting/script compares in some of the different languages available for Breath of the Wild.

Spanish cutscene in a nutshell: Latin Spanish: Zelda: Normal Speech Big guy: this is boring Bird guy: I think the princess doesn't have trust on that boy neither do I Lady: Watch your tongue, he has more balls than you. Castalian Spanish: Zelda: Fancy Speech Poem Big Guy: This almost seems like I'm in a funeral. Bird guy: I don't think the princess will know if he will succeed or not. Lady: He are only best shot I guess.

Zeth Vang lol the context is the exact same, pay attention. Daruk is disappointed on her attitude Revali doesn't like link as he thinks the princess doesn't like him either due to her attitude Urbosa is the only one who understands her (proven later on on her own memory) so she explains why zelda is acting this way. It's easy to misunderstand if you don't pay enough attention.

Japanese is the best for me, it seems more honest to how people would actually act when they're in the situation they're in, English is okay, I don't like Zelda's acting for some parts, but it's okay Latin American.

Even though I played the game in English and it's the VA that I'm used to, I really like the Japanese version (especially because it's the original one) and the Latin American it's reaaally good (which I didn't expect because I'm Spanish and I'm not used to the accent, also, I think the Spanish is awful 😂)

I feel like the reason I like Zelda's English voice over the Japanese is because she sounds like every female "badass" anime character in existence. I've heard it too much to the point where it is annoying.

i love the english voice actors, BUT the latin american spanish is my absolute favorite, all the voices are smooth and fit really well. i also like french but only because french has that royalty connotation to it that fits the members since most of them are royalty in their towns (and zelda overall). european spanish is probably my least favorite, it sounds awkward but that’s probably because i already know latin american spanish.

here's my piece. for the first offical zelda game to have voice acting (that isn't a spin off) we could've gotten *a lot worse.* could it be better? oh hell yeah. zelda sounds fake sometimes, voices can be stiff, and certain character ssound like they only ever have one emotion in certain cutscenes. but at the end of the day it didn't make wanna turn off the game just by hearing it. we can only hope nitnendo hears everyone's criticisms for the next game.

This is hard because I love the English voices for most but absolutely despise Mipha and Zelda's voices. Meanwhile, I love the French Canadian and Latin American Zelda but I prefer the English voices of mostly everyone else.

Hearing and comparing the voices of the languages ​​in this video, so far, Zelda's voice in English is the one that disappoints me the most. In this scene I understand that it sounds like she reads the script, But I've seen other scenes in the game, and it sounds almost the same, it doesn't show much emotion and when it does, comparing it to other languages, it falls far behind.

Spanish Zelda doesn't really sound right; I think she sounds too old. Latin Spanish on the other hand, sounds great; Urbosa sounds sultry and adult in all of them, which is perfect; Daruk is good in all - although his French voice sounds a tad too high; Revali sounds great in all of them; and I don't what to say about Mipha because she doesn't talk in this scene for some reason - probably because she's busy just dreading the idea of Link being too busy protecting Zelda that she'll never get a moment alone with him ever again

Usually annie's voice is all I can hear japanese zelda (this scene is not the case tho), at first that was bugging and I didn't quite like it, but now I kinda dig it I also didn't like English zelda but after a while it just sounds like its a different approach that I can get behind I like ravioli's (yes I know what I said) voice in both spanish and French but I don't think they fit him (but I also don't think any voice really fits the character)

Thanks for uploading this..my one real complaint with this game is Zelda's voice. It's so wimpy, nothing like what I imagined, and the terrible accents she and the king have drive me crazy. Looking for something else I can possibly finish the game too..while I like the Japanese acting, Zelda sounds a little too peppy for my taste. I didn't realize I was so picky with her!

Avery Hicks Agreed. I really like the English versions of Zelda, Revali, Urbosa, King Roham, and Teba. The only ones English ones that are bad in my opinion are Mipha and the Deku Tree. Everyone is meh. I really don't get why all of the people are hating on the English version. It's really not bad at all. There are just some pacing problems, awkward pauses where there shouldn't be. But this is the first Zelda game with voice acting, so that should be expected.

Wow. English Zelda sounds so boring here. I don’t know if I want her to sound like an old lady either though... (Spanish) But I like English Urbosa the best. Strong and confident sounding. Although I might be biased because she’s my favourite Champion. Ravioli (aka Revali) sounds arrogant and pompous and irritating like usual.

I thought she sounded bored as well and pretty bad in the English version, but then I looked at the scene as a whole. She's trying to get her power to emerge and is getting frustrated that it still won't happen. Notice how she keeps looking at her hand from time to time. But instead of lashing out here in that frustration, she's subduing it. She's saying all this stuff just to say it in the hopes it helps awaken that power. Instead of treating these lines with real importance. She wants the end results and so she'll just recite these boring lines to help get it. Also doesn't help that in this version, she really doesn't care about the power at all. Anyway, this is why I defend the English version. The accent could be better or flat out removed, but I still doesn't say she's awful. Other languages are probably better, but I like the English one just fine.
