13:55 “How many rupees do you think it’s worth?” Well, if it’s worth all the ones you’re holding (1 green, blue, red, purple, orange, and gold) that comes out to 476 rupees. According to a study by Barbara Davidson, 1 rupee in the Zelda games is worth ~$0.09, which would make this beverage total up to a $42.84 price tag! Pretty pricey, but I guess the hazard pay from getting the ingredients is kinda expensive…
@nicholasbryant12393 жыл бұрын
If going by that conversion rate though, and with the melons being 16 rupees, volt fruits at 16, palm fruit at 4, and rock salt at 12, all times three would come out at about 144 rupees, or $12.96, before labor. I have an ongoing theory that Hyrule has what can only be described as a Divine Economy: A world overseen by a benevolent protector who directly manages the systems of the world for their creations, where the presence of magical gemstones that never lose their value because the overseer can just ensure that they're always worth the same amount isn't even all that crazy. It even explains why even non-civilized creatures collect them: Blupees actively seek them out as a means of distraction from hunters... Fairies need them as tribute for their magical boons... even monsters hold onto them, perhaps due to the divine allure of their splendor.

There is a zero percent shot of this getting enough likes to be noticed but for a dark horse idea for video game drinks, there's a very underrated science fantasy crpg called tides of numenera that has one of my favorite fictional bars I've ever encountered. It's a sanctuary/hangout spot for psychic veterans called the Fifth Eye Tavern and it's essentially an ancient, refitted factory with various unknowable fluids pumping through pipes that the modern locals have affixed taps onto and found out which ones are safe to drink by trial and error. Some are benign and tasty, some will outright kill you, and some are potent hallucinogens. They are all pretty descriptively detailed in terms of look, taste, and texture though so you'd have a good bit to work with.

The recipe in age of calamity specifically states that its a juice mix and not the original recipe. Like a virgin noble pursuit

The other game is actually called "Age of Calamity", but close enough.

@@flametubexz probably because it's such a minuscule detail.

Also, the initialization should be "BOTW," not "BTOW."

As a grocer, I love that you found out about yellow watermellon! I've stocked them, and aside from the looks, they taste exactly the same.

you didnt frost the glass and that seemed like a missed opportunity.

This last summer we had yellow watermelon at our farmers market here in Nebraska. Kids liked.

Throw an ancho chili in the bottle to soak and add some lovely smokey flavor to the syrup. I loved it that way.

Your daughter will always remember these times "playing" with you. I still remember sitting and hanging out watching my dad play video games when I was little.

I had yellow watermelon! Got it from a roadside produce stand when driving one day, fresh from the farm. They were delicious, and didn't really taste too different. Maybe a bit sweeter, or the quality was just better than what I get at the store.

My sister grew yellow watermelon in her Chicago urban garden this year! And, I’ve seen some sold at my local grocer (Riverwards Produce) here in Philadelphia!!

They actually sell yellow watermelons in my local farmer's market in the summer and in some grocery stores! They taste the same, but the novelty is nice.

Tbh your daughter coming up with cool stuff like that at 5 is awesome. I think it’s every parent’s job to ensure their child never loses things like that.

I’d love to see an episode on the drinks from the video game Deep rock galactic, maybe the main three drinks on tap, Oily oafs brew, Leaf lover’s special and the Glyphid Slammer. Thanks again!

You can get yellow watermelon few and far between here in the south, for only a couple months out of the year. I know they're grown throughout East Texas and Louisiana.
