Oh wow, what a trek. We visited Youlgrave whilst staying in Chelmorton at Far Ditch CL site, so easily accessible and close to Ashbourne, Bakewell, Buxton. On a road between the 515 and A6. Super place and great hosts. The whole area is amazing, particularly if the weather is nice. Being a Kiwi, born in Buxton I have may relatives in Buxton, and Bakewell. I just love the whole area. We had many caravan breaks in our four visits. Thank you for the memories

The villages are very pretty around that area and the views very nice too. I love all the stone brickwork on the houses. All the time I was hoping another vehicle wasn't going to come from the other direction whilst you navigated that narrow road. On the other hand I think it was worth it because the site looked so spacious and peaceful when you did eventually get there. Some of these lanes certainly test your metal don't they? Especially in a motorhome. 👍 Makes you wonder how they get the caravans there, we've had a the odd tight spot sometimes in our car when we've come face to face with a tractor on some lanes. Well done to Jenny on the editing. Also, if you ever get the chance in the future, Haddon Hall is a must for history lovers. I realised it must be a 'thing'. Is there any history as to why motorhomers wave?. You said that WiFi is free on club sites. You may want to check that, I asked about the WiFi at Conniston when I was there last week and there is a charge. Thankyou for your great tips and information.

If you walk back towards the village and cross the little river you can walk left and into Bradford Dale it’s lovely up there. You can walk up into Youlgreave from there it’s a bit steep up to the village but not as difficult as the road you came down. Three pubs in the village and a couple of shops. There is a bus service back to Bakewell though I’m not sure of the frequency. There’s an Aldi in Bakewell that has a reasonable car park if you need provisions. Haha I wrote this before I got to the end of your video

Your sat nag took you a strange route to Bakewell. You could have gone straight on at Calver crossroads. Unfortunately we have an issue with travellers as you may have noticed that’s why there are height barriers and fences. They broke the height barriers anyway hence the open barrier. There are some dedicated motorhome spaces behind the agricultural centre but the car park has been taken over by COVID testing. Youlgreave is an absolute pain even in a car, buses occasionally get stuck there. You’re a braver man than me I wouldn’t take my van down there an I’ve lived in Bakewell for 60 years
