They just have the most perfect chemistry casting. Kudos to casting.

As a disabled person myself, it really upsets me when they cut scenes having to do with disabled people interacting with their children. In 'the theory of everything' Stephen drops his child and they cut it. Here, the child almost drowns, he can't do anything and they cut it. THESE THINGS HAPPEN AND IT IS REALISTIC TO SHOW IT.

Natalie Zayas-Bazan oh man. I'm dying to see an extended version cut should there be one.✊

Films cut things because of time, and/or because it doesn't add to the story/arc they are telling or the theme they are going for. If you watched the video, you'll hear they were not trying to make a documentary, or non-fictional film, even though they say, many of the things in it actually happened, they wanted to be cinematic. If it worked with the story arc well, it would have stayed in. Sometimes into cutting things can make a work feel more confused as a piece. I can absolutely understand why not seeing something that is in some way tangible or realistic and important for your experience as a disabled person might be upsetting or irksome, but it is a movie -- with all its time etc limitations and its artistic foci.

Wonderful film, it did make me wonder if it was made harder to act it knowing it was the producers parents story.

@@retinarental1603 the story is based on a real family. And Jonathan became a film producer,he produced the movie about his parents.
I want someone to look at me the same way Claire looks at Andrew in the thumbnail....
