Learn how and why to use your breath for meditation. This exercise is designed for those beginning to meditate or those looking to review the basics of breathing for meditation. We will also help you respond to the inevitable distractions that arise when meditating.
Use the Breathing Meditation Practice when you want a shorter exercise.
Author: Dr. Keating Coffey, author and voice of the English language YOU exercises, has been using mindfulness with his patients in psychotherapy for 15 years. He holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology, a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and completed his postgraduate training in mindfulness-based psychotherapy at the Hakomi Institute. He is active in programs of the Cambridge Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy, Insight Meditation Society and Spirit Rock Meditation Center.

Can't believe I didn't make a comment 3 years ago I went through mental health disability panic, ptsd, major depression...this recording was a life saver!! It wasn't corny, mystical, reverb, etc. Not only that, the content is perfect. Every word selected and targeted. I recommend it to my clients. Thank you. Curious to know where your knowledge of these techniques originated.

This tape is a great contribution to those who have been already walking on the path and the others who just begin. The timing for 30 mins is really helpful. Through repeated use, I get less distracted and want to come back for practice.

After searching for a long time, this is by far the best meditation guidance for concentration. I have used it already many times. There seems to be a problem with your website and it doesnt appear properly for chrome. I have also problem downloading your android destress app. Is there a technical glitch?

I'm so glad i found this meditation. I love your voice and guidence. It makes me relaxed and focused. Your voice is so friendly! And i also like the fact that you explain why we use the breath for meditation. Thanks for this excersize!

I enjoy the texture and the ambience - but how can I focus on my breath when you talk so much, it's a common enough issue with many meditations unfortunately. The pattern of your instruction means that the mind is anticipating the interruption. Unfortunately you don't get to enjoy the silence. My mind is processing what you are saying for too much of the meditation. Longer spaces between instruction for the meditator to find that space. Thank you for making this.

Just a guess but maybe it was a release from long held depression or stress and when you relaxed and learned how to breathe properly all of your negative emotions went with your exhales.
