Why did you shake your finger at SAE30 motor oil for the new air filter? Thats what people have been using for years.

@@tripplesrule I explain in the narrated version, but it's more that I haven't seen a can of oil (outside aviation) for some time. I also had just enough filter oil for this filter. It's purpose designed for air filters and is quite tacky. Does it perform better? Maybe. Generally, you are correct. Following the manufacturer's recommendations rarely leads to poor outcomes.
