the puppy?!?!? Don't leave us hanging about the pup!

I hate to see you struggling. It seems to me that when the curb is so thick that it would pay to run over it with the mower first. That would likely break it up some at least. Also, I have seen a cool attachment on a Stihl machine. It is a stiff bristled brush about 24 to 30 inches wide. It spins like an edger, as opposed to horizontally like a trimmer. I saw one video where it was used. Pretty amazing.

@SB Mowing : Advice from this retired landscaper is to wrap friction areas with athletic tape beforehand. Bend your hand and fingers into the grip you will be using most and gently go twice around the areas that will get the most friction with the tape for a double layer. Press in gently for the adhesive tape to stick and then put gloves on over that. I've never had a blister. Works on hiking poles, too. Keep a roll of tape in your truck so you can take off the old dirty layers for lunch and then start over fresh.

@@NEbluefireif ya watched the part where he mentioned before he left on the first day that despite wearing gloves he got blisters. Keep up the great work, as you are really showing people that if you put in the work, you can get something done.

You're doing a back breaking job there. Then you get an active little black puppy in the mix. You better leave early from this house today. You're working extra hard and will need a back massage, maybe your arms, too. SB, you did an excellent job. You worked so hard and achieved so much! You made such a difference, nice!

Idk how there are not more comments about that dog. But I hope you either adopted it or took it to a no kill shelter. Years ago I met a farmer from Nebraska while I was digging a hole for a plant and he strongly suggested that I sharpen my shovel with a file anytime I use it. And it worked like a charm. got it sharp enough Like a Knife and it cut through the toughest roots. hope this suggestion helps you

I'm in the UK and we have shovels but we also use spades too. I have yet to see a spade being used in the U.S. they look very similar but you dig with a spade and scrape and collect with a shovel. I suspect a spade would have greatly reduced the graft required on this job.

What never gets mentioned is how grateful the neighbors must be to have this done and to alleviate the eyesore of a neighborhood. Makes me wonder why the city doesn't get involved. Around here you get ticketed for this neglect and if ignored the city comes and cleans it up and sends you a bill.

I am betting that this house is a teardown. It looked like the copper Refrigerant lines were gone from that condensor unit. I am betting that all of the copper has been torn out of that home. Not to mention that the roof is missing a lot of shingles. So the inside walls and floors are probably all water rotted. You basically purchase this knowing that you will have to build a brand new house on it after tearing down the old one.
