I'm a gymnastics coach and dance teacher. I know good drills but I'm always looking at other people's way of doing it to see if they have any more helpful or better ways to teach my students.... Your drills are great! but even more than that you're just a very good instructor! I watch lots of great videos and they're very good ,& I learn. But there's something about the way you teach that just helps you understand better. Just thought I'd let you know thank you for your video.

It may be dangerous to walkover down off a mat. Similar to down a wedge during the learning stages.

How old is too old to do a Ariel Cartwheel or Ariel Back Walkover?
@Milly245horse5 ай бұрын
Never heard too old! I will say tho that he older you are, the harder you have to work for the flexibility for the skill

I’m not a gymnast, I am a yogi hoping to learn from different techniques. trying to work on the back walkover from a bridge position. I’m having trouble bringing the second leg higher , like past 12 o’clock or even 10 o’clock ? When the weaker/non-leading/second leg jumps off the mat, how do the shoulders shift to help bring this non-leading leg higher and over? Other than externally rotating the arms, and pushing firmly down with sttraight arms, and looking up (neck extension ), I’m find it difficult shift shoulders forward once the lagging leg kicks off the floor, to help draw the hips past the shoulders.

Hey there! It sounds like you may want to work on your flexibility a little more before continuing to train the back walkover from a bridge. Once the flexibility is there (in the shoulders, thoracic spine and hamstrings), it's pretty simple to lift the leg past 12 o'clock and shift the shoulders into a greater bridge position. I recommend stretching a little more every day to help!

@@BreazealGymnastics I’m referring to the second leg not passing 12 o’clock, rather than the leading leg(as in the first leg that is pointing to the sky first )
