Hi I can't say how long without seeing the fish, but if they are digging it shouldn't be long I found my females will start to show bright colours of red or orange on there abdomen when they are ready to lay eggs and this would fade after so i could tell by that roughly when they would lay again.

Bro where did you get cyclopes food
@everythingfish-Mike Жыл бұрын
Hey I live in sheffield uk my local fish store sells frozen cyclops and I have made my own culture from taking a few plants and a little water from a local established pond and kept it in a bucket outside and matured it I found cyclops and tiny fresh water crustaceans in there that I transferd to a seperate bucket kept alive and feed to my fish just takes time and patience to catch out any pest predator bugs I also get fly larvae similar to blood worms and scuds to feed to my larger fish too growing in the same original bucket

I think mine laid eggs, so I was checking to see how long and what to feed them

Hey that sounds great, good luck they usually hatch without problems within 2-3 days into wrigglers for a further 2-3 days after they are free swimming I start to feed with small foods such as baby brine shrimp or micro worm and after around a week of live foods I start to introduce them to powdered adult foods wich I blitz in a food processor I feed a couple of times a day a mix of live and dry but just a small amount that can be eaten quickly as over feeding will soon foul the water and could affect the fry after around 4 weeks I remove the fry into a grow out tank hope this helps

@@everythingfish-Mike it might sound stupid, but baby brine shrimp isn’t the same thing as the frozen brine shrimp cubes? And yes, that helps very much.
@everythingfish-Mike4 ай бұрын
Yes the same things. just at different life stages baby brine shrimp can be hatched easily or usually bought at local fish shops in small amounts, I found that the live feedings are not essential the fry usually feed well but noticed a higher number to grow out with live feedings vs just dry alone

My blue parrot fish eat Their baby. Can you tell me why they eat Their baby?
@everythingfish-Mike Жыл бұрын
Its Usually because the parents have got scared or shocked and react by eating the eggs or fry, I keep them alone and with some pairs covering the tank helps so they can not see out of the tank reducing stress. Usually it will not be successful in a community tank.

I usually use a small circle piece of stone for them to lay the eggs on and gave them an open cave so it is easy to see them.
