Hi I know I'm not the person you asked for advice but I just wanted to give my unsolicited advice anyways. There is always a chance of difficulties with pregnancies, there can be stillborn puppies, complications with the birth, or afterbirth, etc. The only thing you can do is talk to your vet, make sure your dog is a good candidate and just go through the whole process with the vet, so if there ARE any complications, they can help and guide you through it.

@@horseriderjessica Yea I wouldn't recommend breeding her the first time she goes into heat. I would wait until the second time. But I'm glad I could help a little! I have a girl who's a year old who I would've loved to breed but I'm not a breeder and don't want her to go through all of that just so she can have some cute puppies, so I'm hopefully gonna be getting her spayed in a couple months

The first thing you need to do is get her health testing done - if she doesn’t pass that she shouldn’t be bred! After that then you can consider whether to breed her or not.

@@horseriderjessica wait til 2 years at least. Do some health testing as well, she may be a great dog but that doesnt mean she needs to be bred unless those genetics and conf look grest too! Also consider do you know of homes? Do you know whos going to buy and do they deserve those puppies? What happens if they dont all sell? Are you willing to keep them for 4, 10, 18 months or even their whole life? Or will you just shelter toss the leftovers. Consult your vet, find you buyers, and ultimately do whats best for mama dog. Millions of dogs are happy without puppies and millions of owners are happy never breeding them. Complications are too high in my personal opinion to do it as a one off “for fun” thing.
