What medicin do you give to your canarys to prevent blackspot l am from South Africa thank for your good program

Also, one last point on lighting. You can get many full spectrum lights that stimulate the birds as if it's daylight that do not produce UVB. Just look for a colour rendering index that is copying that of natural light

Hi! What is lowest temperature in aviary for canary? And when should I have a heater! I am in sandiego California ! In winter the lowest is 10c early morning then goes up to 20 by noon! Please let me know!! Thank u and have a good day🤞

Hi 👋 Canaries can tolerate temperatures below 0 with few problems, so you won’t require a heater!

Hello Oliver, i have a question, what are the calmest birds you have worked with? Maybe an idea for a video to explain the behavior of different species in captivity? That way people like me can pick a species that is the right match for me. Maybe you have already done a video like this and i missed it. Anyways, great videos and keep up the good work! Kind regards from the netherlands.

Hello, I congratulate you for breeding such beautiful birds 🎉 I have a question. I want to mate an orange male canary with a yellow female canary. What color do you think their chicks will be?
@merciercanariculteur67575 ай бұрын
I have raised this colors also the (yellow on orange ,it give me female orange chimeras, almost white female (pale yellow) and intense yellow male

Some say that an orange canary with a yellow canary will make their chickens red or snowy, is that true or not? @@merciercanariculteur6757

@@merciercanariculteur6757What points should I pay attention to in order to get quality chickens from orange and yellow canaries, i.e. the orange canary is male and the yellow canary is female, or the yellow canary is male and orange female, which one should it be?

You should get a UVB light meter to find out if those lights are working as you think. Likely they are not and kitting all your cages out with them is a waste of money
@PlanetAviary5 ай бұрын
The lights do exactly what they are designed to do, we have checked ourselves on our birds... like you say, they can be tested using a solarmeter for uv rays. 8" to 12" distance from light to bird is the golden zone. After 18" the UV rays begin to dissipate more rapidly. Full spectrum lighting is also great to use along side the prot5 uvb kits, and arcadia manufacture one of the best available called jungledawn. It is important to make the distinction that they are not a substitute for the uvb lights. While some of today's full spectrum led lights can give off a small amount of UVA they cannot give off any uvb rays whatsoever. They are all inferior to a uvb lights ability when it come to emitting uva and especially uvb rays that assist the bird in production of vitamin D, which is very important for breeding as it is basically a steroid hormone that plays a major role in breeding success. Vitamin D is largely lacking in any birds diet that does not have access to direct sunlight, uvb light, or foods which have been fortified with vitamin D... it is hard to find in most foods in sufficient quantity unless fortified.

Why you put goldfinch pick in video thumbnail, If you have next to nothing to show for it.

We bred a goldfinch mule which a lot of people want to see, it’s mid moult however so I felt a goldfinch would be more appropriate

@@OCAVIARY oh you deleted one of my comments about the UVB lights you are using, how interesting. I let you be aware of the damages it causes to the birds eyes and it's cancerous risks and instead you chose to hide that from people to save your own public shame. Oliver you are a coward. Now because of you and the video you've made, many thousands of people will expose their birds to UVB lighting. You are a coward
