I have 1rooster and 2hens black autralorps and a barred plymouth rock hen. Australorps hen lays medium size eggs and the barred rock lays large eggs. They are very beautiful birds

With the out cross, do not mix that pen until selecting the best of F2 with your other pens is a general rule.

If you have two lines, and need some genetic separation, go back to the breeder who had the best foundation birds you started with and get another good bird form there, which will be related but not so close, four or five years apart hopefully.

Stop using the word “ sustainability “ it’s an over used word and why would you just want to sustain? Do we not want to build and go beyond the minimum ability to breed the flocks?

Its a word that implies an ability to continue forward without setbacks. When it comes to breeding, there is no secret cheat code that'll allow to to "go beyond" the minimum ability to breed unless you own a multi million dollar laboratory and understand DNA enough to rewrite it.
