Breitling Introduces Six New Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Models

Breitling’s horological journey through three generations of the founding family was “very much the history of the chronograph,” notes the brand’s historian Fred Mandelbaum. When Breitling revived the historic Premier line in 2019 after a 50-plus-year hiatus, the brand aimed to capture that vintage flair in a modern interpretation. Today, the Swiss heritage watchmaker is adding six new Premier models, each in a 42mm case. Five are made of stainless steel and one of 18K rose gold, and all feature a COSC-certified manufacture caliber B01.

A really difficult decision between the blue and the green version. The color of both dials in combination with the polished case and the brown strap is just phenomenal.

Happy that these came out as well as being 42 mm. I’ve been considering the Datora 42 - absolutely love the dial and blued hands but it’s a little out of my price range. Also a little on the thick side - so these ones could be in the sweet spot and seem to be a similar thickness to the Moonwatch.

The Datora doesn’t use the B01 movement. I believe it use the 7750. Good looking watch, though.

I now want to crack open my pistachio and paint the tip of the chrono hand. A lovely touch. It's also making me wish the bracelet for the 42 fit the 40.

I'm not a chronography guy, but these are really nice. Breitling has thankfully revived their brand and is making great watches again. The glossy straps leave me cold, as does the overly blingy bracelet. A matte "Jules Verne" coloured suede would suit the watch so much better.

Great watch. I have the blue. I was able to get a large discount. I didn’t have a chronograph and the B01 is a terrific movement. I have been wearing it daily and my only problems are the bracelet is hard to open and I prefer a screw down crown. Still, it has 100 meters water resistance. I don’t take my divers into water, this is not going into water.

I love the Premier line, however, if I could choose over these models with the cut off numerals, vs the models with the stick indeces (therewith nothing cutoff), the decision is easy.

The bracelet always bothers me. Doesn’t that angled bracelet drive you nuts?! On a positive note, they should have come out with this one FIRST so it didn’t appear like they were ripping from Patek.

The Premier line came out in mid 1940s. I have a Datora 2022 beautiful watch. Patek came out with Constellations way after Breitling.
