It's not just about one stop either, you will find that most oem setups will fade miserably after more that a few stops and the Brembos will be much more consistent, pads also play a big role

@@inevespace people who are into car tuning change their brake fluid more than every 5 years. The standard fluid boils at a lower temp that is why they fade. The pads also overheat and the stock brake lines sre not braided which aldo doesnt help

On the rsx slotted rotors hawk pads or similar, ss lines and good fluid is really all you need. The rsx already has oversized brakes to begin with. I'd use non slotted for the track unless you have money to replace them often because they will crack after a few hot laps in my experience.

Something seems fishy here. Stock brakes were chirping tires and engaging ABS, which means were at limit of tire grip. Brembo just like that stopped the car without any hard work from the tires...were tires slicks in Brembo test?

The real difference between both brake systems is when you stopped with O.E.M. brakes from 60 m.p.h. repeatedly (like 5 times) versus a superior BBK, like the Brembos. Had a RSX-S with The GT Brembo BBK... great looking... incredible performance... but honestly, I got it just for the looks.

Done this on my Charger RT the stock OEM 2 piston braking distance was 60 meters The Brembo 6 piston caliber gave 48 meters 12 meter difference 🤍🤍🤍

It can't be due to just the difference in pistons. What about the brake pads? Are they of the same compound? The OEM set-up with a more aggressive set of pads can also reduce the stopping distance by quite a bit. And I suppose the Brembo is using a larger diameter rotor too?

Did you make the test applying the same speed in each test? The difference in the braking isn’t meant to stop faster but to avoid brake fade be more resistance to heat. This mostly affects track performance rather than street driving. The pad choice is also a big factor when comparing pads. Good pads in stock brakes can yield a similar result to the Brembos, and the pads will be much much cheaper than a Brembo setup. You are connect in saying tire choice makes the largest factor in stopping distance.

I am surprised that stock brakes chirped tires and engaged abs, while Brembo didn't. There must have been a tire change to a grippier compound. Or something fudged with the test. Even grippier pad doesnt make sense because in second test abs was not engaged...

Upgrading your braking system will not stop you faster (assuming stock and upgraded ones are both new), the contact point with the road are the tyres and that's the main limitation. The only difference bettween them is the way they handle the heat generated from braking the car. That said, upgrading your brakes is only necessary if you upgrade other things on your car that allow you to go faster AND if you drive at higher speeds than before that mods.

This an absolutely flawed comparison. There's no way upgrading to a BBK decreases the stopping distance by 19+ feet over stock. Everyone in the comments please do your own due diligence on brakes and don't take this video at face value. It's dangerous to install a BBK and then drive on the streets with a false sense of security.

Video is awful. If you want to show the difference, keep as many parameters constant as possible. Film both brakes from same position and possibly overlap the videos so we can really see the difference. 6 meters is a lot, and I think no manufacturer in their right mind would leave so much space for improvement of the brakes. I don't think this video is valid.
