Brenden could be a great comic if he had enough self awareness to make his flaws work for him. Diaz struggles to speak clearly and say things correctly but his act is so genuine that it becomes part of the appeal and makes him that much funnier. Brenden is image obsessed and can’t stand to be the butt of the joke so he gets in his own way trying to play the cool guy part all the time. If he embraced the fact that he’s a dumb goofball and spoke to us from his real perspective things could be different.

Anyone who feels the need to tell everyone who’s listening how good of a person they are, is deeply insecure and usually the exact opposite of what they say they are.
