Five things can be true 1.) Jon doesn’t need Tom, he’s cemented and this fight doesn’t help his legacy, he walks away 28-0-1 it’s over with and he will be remembered fondly in due time, despite his outside the octagon issues. 2.) Tom is a bad match up and has all the elements to beat Jones and likely would. 3.) Jon is not afraid of Tom Aspinal, stop it yall 4.) UFC should pay Jon 20+ it’s the right thing to do, and with that and Aspinal likely winning, he would be passed the proverbial crown and beat the GOAT, great way for the promotion to now have the next big cash cow who beat Jones. 5.) Fans are lying, Alex Periera vs Jon is absolutely as big of a fight, and I’ll go out on a limb to say it’s NOT easier. Styles make fights, and that fight has a lot of implications. If Alex wins he’s the first three division champion and has an argument for the GOAT himself after wining kickboxing world titles and UFC world titles. Tom has a healthy level of respect for Alex for a reason, he puts people’s lights out, that fight is no way an easier fight for Jones.

Technically Jones isn't undefeated. A few boxers have genuine inbeaten careers.
@billj4525Ай бұрын
The talent of Jons competition is insane. People have been undefeated, but no one at the top in boxing has ever faced his kind of competition every fight for their whole careers. It's important to note how easily things can go wrong in an MMA fight. It's so much easier to lose in mma, it only takes one tiny mistake or one lucky shot. Not losing in MMA is just totally different than in boxing. You can see how a guy could go undefeated in boxing, but in mma it sounds almost impossible over enough fights vs tough competition. Jon does officially have one loss, that's true. Your point is true though. There are many boxers who have been undefeated, but no top mma fighters other than Jon have, if you don't count that loss I mean, then 0 have. That stat tells you something. It tells you how much easier it is to do in boxing compared to mma.

This is probably the most accurate description of what’s going on. I’d agree with every point Brenden made. Let’s hope the ufc decides to pay for arguably the biggest ufc fight ever!

Why didn’t Tom ever call out Francis I never remember hearing Tom hammering for a natural 270 Francis

“A lot of unanswered questions.” We know way more about Jon than we do about Tom. Tom grew up in a BJJ gym but was heel hooked at heavyweight lmfao… and he’s been hit and wobbled before KOing stiffs

The heavyweight division is always bad, there are only moments of 2/3 contenders never a full weight class of serious threats
@billj4525Ай бұрын
I said something similar. Jon Jones is up there with Jordan and Gretzsky in terms of dominance and how good he is. What he's done when it comes to beating 3 generations of fighters without a loss other than maybe Reyes, and he didn't train for that and it was close enough for him to win anyway. It may never be done again in fighting ever.

I can't see Aspinal, vs Jones, vs Francis. Who knows which one fights who, likely Jon will be one of them, but i can't see someone not paying huge money to see any of these three fight each other. A year after the second Stipe fight for the trifecta with Francis would have been huge and no matter who won, it had all the possibility to be a great fight and a perfect way for Stipe to end. Francis really disappointed every fan by not taking that, or Jon Jones.

He's correct, to say fighters at this level are scared is kind of funny. But they are calculated. I.e. Mayweather, the fight game is unique.

Jon Jones will beat Tom Aspinall on the ground! Period! Tom doesnt have any chance in the fight vs Jon. Jon will brake his soul on the ground fight. U can say what u want about Jon Jones, the numbers show why he is the best walking fighter in the world. Jon Jones can make a super fight outside the UFC with Francis. That will be the best fight of all times for heavy division. The main problem is UFC contract. I think Jon Jones will accept the fight with Francis for tons of money like Mayweather vs. Conor. It is the only way u will see more Jone Jones fights. And lets be fair about this amazing fighter, he diserves to be nr.1 calling the cards like Mayweather and chose his last fight on his terms! The second problem is the UFC will never pay tons of money to Jon Jones and u can check that in the history of UFC payments. The rest of fighters will go to war on that if happens and Dana White doesnt want that. The only way is a retirement last show: "world exotic event heavyweight", outside UFC and Jon Jones be strongly rewarded for this last match. Sorry for my bad english but this is what i feel about this situation.

Brendan Schaub critiquing and ranking Jon Jones? That’s bold. It’s like me critiquing Picasso’s brushwork-sure, everyone’s entitled to an opinion, but at a certain point, the art speaks for itself. Jon Jones has the GOAT resume, and love him or hate him, his dominance is undeniable. Critiquing a career like that feels more like noise than substance.
