Don’t you just find it so very annoying when you are just trying to teach yourself to play an instrument and someone else is playing absolutely amazing stuff and knows all the stuff lol😂 really love this video thanks 🙏🏻

Thanks, Brendan. It had to be you the 1st one to find out these novel uses. I think it's great for its intended use, especially for something you mentioned, guitarists can play a blues scale with octaves, so it sounds fuller. And if they want a diatonic scale, they can get your solo-tuned harmonica and learn to play 5-holes octaves. I would have made the C harp an LC harp, though. If you don't have to bend the notes to get the scale it was made for, then I think most guitarists would prefer to have the extra low scale instead of the high one. It actually takes practice to play that high without emptying the room :P

Another day, another tuning. I’m also on the alternative tuning roadmap, but a few years ago I settled on ED Tuning and have no regrets sticking with that one. Personally, missing a draw bend on every octave would drive me crazy - I’m not tempted by this tuning. Great to have a non-sponsored review by an alternative tuning master. I still wish for the day when customized (steel) reedplates are easier to buy. Right now, the only source I have to get my ED tuning is Seydel, and I find that limiting - though luckily they make pretty solid, though conventional, harps at the moment.

Thank you. I often play regular major harp without blow notes, just draw notes with constant bending. I don't know what scale comes out, but it is very expressive and fun to play/improvise like that. I was wondering how playing like that would sound on Pentaharp.

Thanks Brendan, I believe that you can make a paper clip good

Good exercises to improve releasing air then, given everything being better on draws.

Awesome stuff - take the harp that is supposed to be (and I don't really like this term..but) dumbed down, and go all "mad scientist" on it. I would be curious to see the position chart on this...and what would you call the positions when it starts off in 2nd(?)? So Eb would be 10th off C...or 9th off G? Hahaha - anyway - always great to hear your take on all things harmonica.

Hi, Brendan! Could make a review of the Seydel Nonslider Chromatic Harmonica Please?

This arrangement of tones can easily be retuned to create Spanish tuning or ED. Both of which are more friendly to me than this tuning.
@BrendanPowerMusic3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the symettric layout and consistent breathing pattern lends itself to adapting to other scales with that basic arrangement. As well as the ones you mention, Easy Third is another simple retuning: just raise 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 blow a semitone.

Could someone please recommend reasonably well-known songs using F# our Gb major pentatonic?

Sounds like you end almost every draw phrase with a short blow chug. (Habit) It could be a little distracting for the new player hearing the demo for the first time.

I bought one and do not like it at first. Hard to make music with. Cannot play melodies to songs. Just riffs. No chords to speak of. Thank you for this video as I can now jam and play riffs with it. My $50 was not wasted. Is hard to get used to. Anybody wanna do a song In E flat?

Fair enough - as with any alternate tuning, there are some things gained and other lost compared to standard Richter tuning.

@@BrendanPowerMusic Nah. Wouldn't buy one because I am broke and still trying to collect all your Lucky 13s. I was going to get myself a few more for Christmas but lost my job right before Thanksgiving so spent money on my kids and wife instead. 😝
