I think the silver lining in this camp is that although we have several of our starters who are out that means we are going to be having some guys coming in super hungry to not only make the most of their chances but also to make a good first impression on Pochettino as they see this as a fresh start with a new coach. Got a feeling guys like Brendon are really going to come out strong and motivated unlike the complacency and indifferance the players seemed to have developed later in the GGG years.

I took an immediate liking to these two players when they came in the scene a few years back. They’re both probably in the second tier of American players in terms of quality and technical ability but I feel like they’re both the kind of players that will grow into key contributory roles on USMNT as time goes on. They have an attitude and mentality I really like.

Lack of dedication and effort won't be a reason they don't accomplish something.

Josh seems pretty shy. He’s personality may change at play time because he seems pretty engaged at game time w Norwich. I hope to see that soon w the USNMT. SHE surprised to hear he has a wife and two kids. He’s pretty young.

These two have the mentality of American soccer should be going forward. They have the work rate and determination that embodies the American spirit and Pochettino will for sure rate them. They must seize this opportunity, go out and score vs Mexico, earn a penalty, hold the ball up well, these are the sorts of things they are capable and must do.

I wish they'd sit CP for both games since Fonseca said he has a flexor issue. No need to risk injury playing in CONCACAF against Mexico and Panama. CP should rest up.

@@juangabriel6443 Fonseca said he took CP off in their last match because he was suffering something with a flexor/hammy. If accurate, I would rather see CP rest and not play for the USMNT, so that he is ready to go for Milan when he returns to Italy. CP is potentially going to have a historic season for an American.

@@tspot816 Yup, just bring him on as an impact sub. Right now his focus has to be AC Milan. On his way to being the best USMNT player ever.

All these two is need is the chance--to know they've secured a consistent position. Once that confidence comes into play, watch them shine. Aaronson has always been a spark plug at midfield, start and leave him there, and Josh can be a tremendous forward--better and more consistent than Pepi, Wright, and Balogun, easily.

We need to grow a deep pool and find the odd MLS guy that’s in form. Injuries prove we need depth. Also, MLS is not that bad, certainly does not count if you don’t play overseas and you are high flying at home. Key point - MLS needs to grow more Americans and give more minutes. Most teams are overwhelmingly South American now with 2-3 maybe 4-5 Americans in a happy case on the entire roster. That doesn’t create a pool or depth.

one way to get on pochettino's good side brenden and josh is to not intentionally try to look like each other, that would only confuse the new coach.

This is an excellent sentiment from Josh and Brendan, but the Federation failed them and their potential by rehiring Berhalter last year. Poch can’t save this, and a realistic quarterfinal run for 2026 is now a pipe dream.
