Kinda dreading this because even though he can sing SO WELL for some reason this specific note is like cursed or something.

Yeah but as a singer myself, there could be multiple reasons. For example, 1. He could have not warmed up. 2. He could have been sick. 3. Some notes singers have a hard time hitting.

That is correct.

It's really odd listening to him perform this song in the original key, because for whatever reason he almost always seems to struggle with that A4. If he bring it down to the G4 he hits it flawlessly every time, and he's got so many songs where he goes much higher and has a much clearer sound, but that A4 it always seems like he's trying super hard and never quite nails it. My best guess (as someone with only limited knowledge on the subject, granted) is that he sings that song in mostly full chest, and doesn't prep his mix since that's the only note where he would actually need it, so instead he tries to stretch his chest up and can't quite make it anymore due to his voice lowering a bit over time?
@EajunM4 жыл бұрын
There are times when his vocals are in the mood that he can hit A4 in his mixed voice, going down to G4 and sliding up to C5. The times he failed to hit A4 are when he's sick
@TheNutshaq4 жыл бұрын
A4 is usually right on the line between where head voice starts and chest voice stops. I know for me personally my chest voice only goes up to G4 and I have to bring my head and mixed voice down to pick up the slack. Brendon is probably in the same boat, but for this song he tries to sing the A in his full voice and it just comes out wobbly
@kaitiericketts15664 жыл бұрын
He sings mostly in his chest but when he tries to use those high notes, he gets into his head voice.
@kaitiericketts15664 жыл бұрын
@@EajunM or he was vocally tired. From personal experience. If you over sing, you can possibly lose your voice a little and not be able to hit some notes.

For all the people complaining about his “bad technique”, think about this! This man has been singing this song for years and his voice is clearly going to change after so many years. Also in most of these clips he’s on tour. This means that he is traveling constantly for month on end, singing for hour doing even more vocally demanding songs, dancing around on the stage, and also having to deal with press, loud fans and paparazzi. So I think it’s pretty understandable that he isn’t going to sound 100 percent perfect all the time. Singing live is hard, especially in rock concerts! Y’all need to chill out. You don’t know what kind of technique he has and how he accomplishes his sound. Just be a bit more understanding. Positivity for the win.

Honestly Brendon is my favourite singer and I think he has one of the best, if not the best, voice of our generation and his vocal range is amazing. That being said, there's something about this note that makes it painful to listen to. Idk what it is, and some performances are better than others

As it seems from these clips.His A4 is just the point that his voice flips and he cant actually sing it for pong cause his voice legit cant sustain it.He then flips to straight up head voice cause he is very comfortable there.
