I.’m a life long speed-metal guy till I was switching “stations” one day recently and chills started going up and down my spine, when I heard Brents voice and the brilliant, brilliant lyricism. So I was listening intently when that bad ass swampy blues slide came in and knocked my freaking socks off! Opened my ears, changed my perspective changed my life!!!! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HARDCORE HEART…

Coming from a guy who listens to the likes of Soundgarden, AIC, etc... most of the time I've never been that much into country music besides a few songs here and there over the years. That said I do appreciate good music and that's what this song is. Awesome job.

I heard this on a mix that Spotify created for me. Stopped me DEAD in my tracks. I listened about 3 times then pulled up this video on KZbin. I completely understand why this song and his style got me. . It's that old hippie deep soul vibe that exudes from him. Hoping he comes to Nashville soon. Love his vibe and the soul in his music. Reminds of my 70's roots of Stephen Stills, Joni M, and Neil Young, Jesse Colin Young, they Youngbloods and Buffalo Springfield. Thank you Brent Cobb for keeping the spirit alive.

Good lord this song is absolutely amazing. I have always like just about ALL genres of music. The only two exceptions have been moderns radio play top 40 garbage and modern country. Never had any use for anything after Dwight Yoakum, and have always have a particular love for Hank Williams (sr), Johnny Cash, Waylon & Willie and so on. But recently I was pointed at Chris Singleton and he's just wonderful and has singlehandedly changed how I feel about modern country music. And from Chris, I followed "you might like..." links in Apple Music and found a bunch of other things I love. Sturgil Simpson, Luke Bell and a few others. But the absolute cream of the crop is Brent Cobb. This song made me want to try my hand at actually playing country music and inspired me to want to learn how to play the slide (which btw, I suck at :D). Brent Cobb and Chris Singleton have led me to have an epiphany that seems completely obvious in retrospect: just as there is modern music that is great and worth exploring and that doesn't make the radio top 40 stations, there is also country music that is the same. Alternative country? I don't know if that's a thing, and I realize Chris Singleton is big radio now as well, but what he does musically falls outside what I've come to expect from modern country music.

This speaks to me in the same way. If you truly love music, there's good in every genre. Hip hop and classical included. If you don't believe me; you just ain't heard the right song yet. Play on musicians outside the mainstream! The very best songs usually ain't on the radio.
