It's jazz but yes, I agree with the sentiment 100%, beautiful music is beautiful for anyone who's willing to listen. "Straight, No Chaser" is another example that shows you that jazz blues is not blues, it's jazz).

A fine example of this style of music and guitar playing ala Doc Watson. I'm going to get ALL of those licks under my fingers. His tone will take much more work and is aided by the beautiful Martin Guitars OM Style Acoustic he plays here. Simply put, a Twentieth Century masterpiece made in the early 1930s I believe by the fine Luthiers at Martin Guitars USA. Get one while you can!
@Egg-noodles3 жыл бұрын
@@rockers2rockers616 I own a Taylor personally, and have played many a Martin in my time, and in my opinion the have a much richer, more full timbre than the Taylors. The lower action most Taylors have and the thin, ergonomic necks and deeper cutaways just make them easier to play for me. I absolutely love the Martins’ tones though, I’ve tried changing to a thicker gauge string, swapping to nylon, using finger picks, switching to just fingernails, everything I can think of to get that warm tones that Martins have while sticking with a Taylor, which from a playability standpoint just suits my style better. Sadly, nothing I try compares to a good ole Martin. If only there was something I could do to my Taylor to get that tone.

These 2 gents are fantastic. They both are tapped into that sacred vein where the best music flows forth and is timeless. They both are wonderful vocalists and as guitar pickers, they humble me. As a 50 year old who has been playing for 38 years, they've got me doubling down on my practicing! Lol I would say not to worry about the young folks, they have a big mess to clean up but they'll do well, and they'll keep us tapping our feet while they're at it!

We all know and love his guitar playing but his singing just keeps getting better.

Simple but direct and doing only what’s needed to improve the song. From 5 years back the singing sounds more controlled now.

Just discovered Markus and Billy a couple months ago. Motivates me to pull out the guitar and just play along with them.
