Anyone who isn't Grateful is: Uneducated, Delusional, Subjective, just stupid. Love Every Second. God Bless Brent Mydland.

@rentonevolvorion from an email a fan wrote to John Perry Barlow

Drendan Orion I think I might be that fan who sent this in an email attachment to Barlow. I worked for a band out of Bakersfield called Big House. The lead singer, Monty Byrom, had previously been in a bay area band called Billy Satellite. Who's claim to fame was writing the Eddie Money hit "I Wanna Go Back". Apparently Brent was a fan and he was introduced to Monty by Betty Cantor. The two quickly bonded and when Brent decided to record a solo record, he asked Monty to come in and play guitar on this track. Betty was the producer. One might think this was all rock star road talk, but it was all confirmed when I had the honour of meeting Betty in Frisco before the Big House show at Biscuits & Blues in 1999. As a rabid deadhead this meeting is one of those memories I don't think even Alzheimer's could take from me. She was the one to make us a CD of the studio rough of "Maybe You Know". I've had it ever since and sent it to Barlow when I read a quote of him talking about Brent's solo record that never was. So there you have it...to my knowledge it was recorded in 1983 at the Dead's studio in San Rafael. Now you don't maybe know...you know.
