Wish they lumed all the indices on this. A watch this big and sporty, with lumed bezel insert, should have that.

Then you would get less of the Zaratzu polished indices. I think it’s a good trade off.

Does the texturing of the dial "pop" more in-person? Seems like the camera is having trouble picking it up at anything other than a perfect angle.

I wouldn't say it "pops" but it is much more noticeable in natural light.

It’s a recurring trait of Seiko when producing interesting faces. Images of the watch dial in advertising always show more detail than what is actually visible to the eye in decent lighting conditions. You have to look pretty close to see the detail. Another example is on their cheaper watches that show the blue ‘Ginza’ tile patterns. Looks great in their images, but only visible to the eye in bright sunlight, or very close inspection. Why ?

I am on the fence between this model and the sbgj237 - Grand Seiko Hi-Beat. I am leaning toward the spring drive model. What is your opinion? I rarely dress up and like this more sporty look than the traditional GS dials

I personally prefer the spring drive and textured dial on the 277 but both are great!

@@brentmillertime8778 thanks for your reply. I agree. I was surprised that this large of watch actually did not too big on my 6 3/4 wrist. You do a great job on your reviews.

Get the spring drive. No one else in the world makes a spring drive which is its own unique technology no one has. It’s not another automatic that anyone makes. It’s very accurate

Why is the SBGJ237 more expensive with the Hi-beat than this is with the spring drive?
