So great that you're producing content again! DieselPump UK makes something they call a quick spool valve. It's a much simpler and more comapct design than the wastegate option you have. That said, your billet collector is gorgeous and the wastegate version very interesting.

Thanks for watching! I did research their QSV and I did consider it. But I liked the built in collector and the known reliability of this wastegate design. I'm not discounting the DP UK valve at all. I have zero experience with it. I just thought this design would suit my application better.

@@breoll86 Thanks for your rationale, likewise I'm not familiar with this style or its reliability. There's not nearly enough diesel content around if you're not interested in Cummins or Detroits. Would you do a video on how you do the ECU flashing/tuning? Keen to see what else you come up with!

Would love to know what parts you are using for your rebuild kits? Also, where are you getting your pistons? I assume the Carrillo rods and stock crank.

I'll be using GM bearings, seals, and gaskets. I had Total Seal make a set of piston rings for me. I want to see where the factory pistons actually fail with proper tuning. But I'll be sending them off to get coated. I'll be polishing the factory crank. And also have a set of the Carrillo rods here on the shelf.

@@8180634 I guarantee I will find the weakest link. And rebuild it better the next time. I'd rather break this one vs the one in my truck. And this way I can try some crazy stuff.

Do you have questions about anything specific? The tr6060 out of the v6 Cadillac will bolt up to this motor. But the two lower bellhousing bolts that go into the oil pan don't line up. I feel comfortable running without them though.

Best of luck with getting the turbo to spool. With a manual vs an automatic it's not gonna stay on boost during gear changes. Whats your target operating rpm? I know stock these things are out of steam after 2,800 and flatline til 3,500.

The math says it should start to spool at around 2250-2500 rpm. Luckily the engine won't be stock and will be capable of rpm well over the factory poweband. I also have some more tricks up my sleeve that should alleviate that problem.

Haha! My ultimate goal is to do a drag and drive event. So a small hitch may be in the future...
