It's so sad, she just got to know her mother and they were getting along so well.

Right? I mean what are she and the baby going to do now that Julie is gone? If anything, I think that the guy who’s Nicholas from the show who was the one helping them out when Julie was planning on moving to Chicago to be closer to Sylvie, well maybe they can hopefully find some kind of nanny or whoever they can find, who’s more than qualified and more than reliable to help raise the baby while they’re at work. And for me, I’m not sure if I am sad or disappointed that the mom is dead and now Sylvie and her baby sister are both on their own, and also, not only were Sylvie and Julie getting to know each other, they were also becoming really close to each other and becoming such good friends, that it wasn’t right for Julie to die. Now what is Sylvie going to do? I mean like everyone else has been saying, Sylvie can’t seem to get a break, either from having to raise the baby on her own or having to go to work and save lives every single day as a paramedic working with the Chicago Fire Department in the show.

This was such a sad scene, but I love the fact that she chose to call Casey when she needed someone and that he just dropped what he was doing and went to her without a second thought. They have built such a beautiful, supportive connection with each other over the last season and this one. Can they please just put them together already.

Yes she may have not known her biological mother for very long but you can tell that Sylvie was very happy with her. Also Casey really looked devastated for her. And the person Brett has come over to the hospital is Casey. According to the synopsis for the next episode on April 8th Brett is either gonna adopt her half sister because Julie husband doesn’t want the kid out of grief or decide to be in her half sisters life that puts in her conflict with Scott (Julie husband). The whole firehouse rallies behind Brett and the one person she leans on the most for support is Casey. Nothing couple related but laying the foundation for a potential romance

I can see either possiblity happen. The adopting her half-sister is possible, especially if they had planed on going in the romance direction with Brett and Casey as she could lean on him with help raising her since he has some parenting experience with the short time he and Gabby had Louie. The wanting to be in her half-sister's life which puts her into conflict with Scott works because Julie had already stated that he was unhappy learning that she had had a child when she was younger and it was never stated if Scott had actually gotten over it like Julie made it seem. (That made me question how that family dinner Julie would have gone, and who had been the one to contact Scott since Sylviw knew he was stuck in traffic)

This is a plot twist I did not expect. I'm currently crying on my boyfriend's shoulder. Poor Sylvie. She just got the devastating news about her mother passing, just after getting to know her. An upside to it all, is that she has a baby sister. Half sister, granted, but still. You could see the pain in Sylvie's eyes and somewhat in Matt's eyes too.
