So get married like Brett, knowing you can afford to, already having responsibility, structure, and how to raise children and navigate all these things, cuz if you jump in blind it can all fall apart around you

I think the attraction with Brett is she comes across as honest (and is) and seemingly comfortable being herself. Unapologetically but also respectfully. She isn't crude, or using sexuality to sell something. She's just unabashedly herself and the personality she has is very easy to relate to and listen to and side with. Helps she's talking about things I relate to obviously...rational critical thinking. Not always...but pretty much most of the time. She is also not trying to speak truth to power and try to be a victim or minority. She just says what she thinks and lets the cookie crumble. I guess lastly...she's talking on the thoughts and opinions of other normal people (normal loosely) in the comments right? She's not engaging in typical MSM crap...and she's also not trying to make you a better person or sell someone she's got as a guest that she's paid, like so many (not that there's anything wrong with that as I enjoy your show and guests too). But that's my take.

Brett caught my attention (let's be honest, she is absolutely beautiful) from some KZbin thumbnail so I clicked... Have never regretted that decision. The delivery, the humor, the topics and opinion are exactly what need to be said. I grew up on Rush and Glenn, two older guys who the young viewer may not gravitate to. The Comments Section is the perfect "gateway" into traditional, Conservative ideology the young ones might be looking for.

So somebody without a mind of their own, I would think they would hire a good looking and likeable person for that "no brains required" position. HOW did she get that job? Not a fan of Brett anymore. She ABSOLUTELY does not like criticism of herself. I posted a comment once pointing out how her videos had become less engaging because every 5th word she said was muted and it started sounding more like a radio edit rap song. I suggested she just use different words as to avoid needing 50+ "mutes" during a 10min video. She or one of her team kept deleting my comments. The more I looked at the comments sections, the more I noticed they were all "positive" in favor of Brett. Which means she or her team actively curates her comments section to remove anything that's even remotely critical against her. I stopped following her after that. The only one I still follow who hasn't been a hypocrite is Walsh. The rest of the team aren't worth the time.

Tucker Carlson is unhinged. I love Chris' stuff when he talks to non-political experts (O'Connor, Kipping, or even when the politically-involved (ie Peterson, Weinstein) stick to their true areas of expertise. I feel like I must have a lot of overlap with his audience in those moments. Then when he has someone like Destiny on and I scroll through comments, it feels like a completely different audience. They didn't actually talk about Tucker much, but I do hope Brett feels free to criticise him.

@@stopdropnroll Yeah I like Brett from a distance just because she seems enthusiastic and good-hearted, but she definitely appeals to a different sort of base. I feel like a lot of it is just meming and twitter-level analysis. When it comes to questions that could lead to stuff of substance (ie asking about Tucker) she just gave kind of a nothing answer and glided by. It was a way to avoid digging into political stuff (which ought to be her bread and butter) and just sort of appeal to all sides. For context, I started out as something of a conservative, listening to tons of Daily wire back in 2016/17 when I was living in China and just getting into politics. I say 'something' of a conservative because I probably didn't do much independent research. I pretty much just listened to my echo chamber. I've slid generally left ever since, but I like to think I research and form opinions regarding each specific topic nowadays (I still have certain views that are considered fairly right). The main thing that's been disheartening me recently is the slow-dawning sense that nobody does actual research. We all seem to be passing vague silhouettes of ideas around (headlines I guess would be a more normal way of putting it) without actually doing any legwork. It feels like all the Daily wire guys (except Ben maybe) have a team of researchers who just feed them a few superficial points to string together every morning, and they don't actually know what goes on two or three layers down. Sorry that was a huge ramble, not super relevant to what you said. But yeah, Chris definitely lets things slide depending on who he's talking to. Maybe that's fine cuz it's sort of his role as a host/platform, inviting supposed experts who know more than him about any given topic. I do really like him. He's sharp, charismatic, articulate, and seems genuinely curious.

@@QeepingItReal lol I'm struggling to see how the comparison maps on. Maybe you'll need to help me out. Regarding 'unhinged' . . . . I mainly use it to describe people I USED to think were balanced, or people who shifted wildly over the last decade. With trump say, everything is sort of baked in. I wouldn't say he's unhinged, I'd just say he is how he is. There are some people though who I thought sane who have now been supporting his insurrection more and more wildly . . . . they are unhinged because they used to have a certain degree of prudence which for some reason they then lost. So 'unhinged' would be something I'd use to describe, for example, Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson, wheras people like Pearl Davis or Sam Seder have just always been sort of grifter ideaologues and don't surprise or disappoint me in any way. If you're looking for specific reasons as to why I'd consider Tucker unhinged, I don't know that I have the time to detail it all out. See any of Shapiro or Destiny's criticisms of him. His isolationism is delusional, his Putin Love is dishonest (or delusion, not sure which), he lied on Fox for months (years), hated it, and when it was leaked pretended it hadn't happened. He is so fixated on preserving a few isolated Western values (which are admittedly being threatened) that he's willing to throw the entire rest of them into the fire

@@QeepingItReal She says she doesn't know the details of what happened, which is kind of wild for someone with her job. Then she talks about his masculinity edits as if they capture the substance of his ideas. Maybe she's just more overtly memey and gen Z than I realized, but anyone in the media space should probably be aware of why he got fired, how he knowingly lied for months, and his egregious lack of research when it comes to anything Russia, Putin, Andrew Tate, Trump, and more

I used to like Carlson, but he turned into a cartoon with an intellectual sophistication of a goldfish. I started to have trouble taking him seriously, but after his Moscow escapade I see him a journalistic equivalent of a flat earther. He is a parody of himself and it seems people pay attention to him only because they seem him as an opposition to the mainstream media. And we definitely need opposition to the mainstream media. Just not someone like Carlson.
