😮Simple question. Why is the second option of dv+ operation without a thick spring behind a large brass piston not shown in the video? Is it possible to operate dv+ without a large spring behind a large piston?

After owning 3 of these GFB+ i can say they are absolutely RUBBISH. Also, i no too many people in the car scene that also have removed it. Have to oil them frequently and 2 out of 3 had leak. Local tuners in the UK make tfsi owners remove them.

It works great if you have piggy back like JB4 or stage 1 tune, anything beyond that with higher boost pressure, it will cause all kinds of problems

@@drsnowmon Best to use forge DV valve or turbo smart they hold boost perfect even 650+ perfect. Forge can change the spring for your psi rating.

@@mygolfmk7209 don't get me wrong most gfb+ are fine it's just how long till they fail and leak. Tuning companies here in the UK make us take them off because they leak or get stuck. In my case and friends they fail I've had around 3-4 and now I don't use them. Best to use forge DV valve or turbo smart you won't have any issues I haven't and a couple friends. I know alot about the tfsi platform since I've built and tuned many I've owned and friends.

@@mygolfmk7209 also I think gfb have launched a new one a low profile one with electric piston without using the original DV solonoid I'm going to test that out in a few weeks on a ea888 platform

@@enhanceduk4642 My point again is that I'd like to see evidence of the part not functioning, not hearsay. In the US the rumor is that tuning companies tell people not to use any aftermarket DV because they believe the stock is the best, which contradicts the advice you've giving for using Forge or Turbosmart. This is one example of why I'd like to see some evidence because there doesn't seem to be evidence underlying the opinions people and companies have.
