All these accusations are just unreal, baseless. it is as if America wants to give that office to an "ANGEL". Yet there is none. How can you judge a person on his high school history after nearly 30 years. This is BS. Why don't they give that complaining woman the job. it seems she really needs. it is disgusting for a mature, married, mother to say that she was almost raped.

+HoCB F Ironically, lifetime appointments were intended to make SC appointments apolitical and protect them from the fallout when their decisions go against the wishes of the powers that be. If you want to blame anyone for this, look no further than Alexander Hamilton whose declaration in the Federalist Papers said that “nothing can contribute so much to its firmness and independence as permanency in office”.

It's the American infatuation with elections. They believe that popularity contests to determine the best liar trumps appointing someone on the basis of qualification, experience, and proven years of impartiality. It's why drooling maniacs like "batshit crazy" Bachmann got elected. Not because she had any qualifications, skills, experience, ideas, or capability because she had ZERO, but because she pandered more successfully to the fears of equally lunatic racist shitstains than her opponents did.

Why is Kavanaugh so hysterical? Maybe it's that time of the month. This just proves what happens when we let men be judges... honestly, they are too emotional. I love men, my father is a man I respect, I just think they may be not suited for high offices? Also, he should smile more, that way he would seem more approachable in my opinion. And his voice is just... really unpleasant. It's just really hard to listen to.

So, questions of criminality aside, Kavanaugh demonstrated that he can't do the job. Go ahead, make America "Great Again" by nominating twerks. If it weren't so serious it would be hilarious. Of course he is angry. He is a man that sees the 'empire' crumbling down that he has build over decades. He is a man that is looking for power. Back then he had to assault women to get the feeling of power. Later as a judge he had the power of sending people to jail. Someone like that is dangerous, when someone like that loses his power, he could go on a killing spree. His outburst of anger, in front of cameras and a committee probably shows a restrained version of his anger, I don't want to meet him in private.

I would expect any normal human being faced with accusations like those against Brett to be angry, considering what he and his family have been dragged through just before the election, regardless of any guilt. Wouldn’t you be? It’s sad to see the video host had to exaggerate Brett’s emotions to make him look bad. For example, listen to how Brett said “I demanded a hearing” at 0:32. Sounds pretty calm to me. Then listen to the host’s imitation of him. From my perspective I think Brett controlled his anger better than most would have, and when he's doing the job he will probably be even less emotional because his personal life won't be involved. Anyway, the level of emotion shown by Brett when he was personally under fire doesn't seem to me to be far out of line with that of other judges doing their job when they are not under fire.

James The only person who ruined his reputation is himself. All he had to do was admit he couldn't be sure he hadn't done what Dr Ford alleged, agreed that his drinking and social behaviour had been a problem, assure us it no longer was, end of story. The GOP's reputation would remain tarnished for the way they suppressed most of the relevant detail about his career, but his appointment would have gone ahead. Instead he painted a stupidly implausible and unsustainable self portrait of a virginal swot who spent all his spare time working out, studying, playing manly sports or going to church. Who got into Yale against all odds, cherished a reverence for womankind, a weak stomach for spicy food and a fascination with whether his boy friends had farted yet.

Interesting how kavanaugh is referred to as Supreme Court Nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Such pomp, such dignity. Rolls sonorously off the tongue. Meantime, Dr or Professor Christine Blasey Ford is denied any honorific, except perhaps for the occasional Ms. Why is that?

Obviously I'm not not in the loop of this whole story.... I am actually just starting to learn more about it. Im Canadian, therefore I don't really read/watch everything going on in American news. But I do have a question. Why exactly isn't the FBI allowed to be on this case, and without the FBI being involved is it less likely that he will be found guilty of these crimes he's being accused of?

Innocent, guilty I have no idea at this moment. Many on here have already passed judgement both ways and that's what concerns me. To my knowledge, correct me if I'm wrong but no evidence including witness testimony has held up to this point, that's not to say something might arise and the victim has difficulty placing the date/time etc the assault happended. It's hard to fathom verdicts which ever way can be determined as of now. With the FBI now investigating let's hope justice for either party is true. Until then it's an injustice to make judgment...

Trevor is hilarious as always but there's no evidence or corroborating witnesses to Ford's story. Kavanaugh's reaction and temperament is reasonable for someone facing the most ridiculous accusation with his life hanging in the balance. Emotions = bad judge, no emotions = guilty. That's why we put facts and evidence first before judging someone based on emotions or lack of it

He is not guilty and never will he be. As long as Ms Ford does not have any witness, the man is fit for the job. In regard to his body language, his response was due to the way he was treated by so called Democrats. Any one who think this man is guilty should think twice. And if you want to tal about body language then Ms ford was the worst. How can you accuse someone of wrongdoing if you don't know where , when it happened.

I love TDS and TN. But this is a hatchet job... he didnt say he adhered to the chart, he specifically said he had too many beers and when asked what that meant he said whatever the legal limit is. I found his outrage to be a bit surprising for somebody going to the judiciary at the highest levels, it was unprofessional, however if in fact he is innocent I can understand his frustration and annoyance, though he should do better to reign it in. Truth is we just don't know.
