They're often doing lots of lampooning and satire and setting up scenarios that never happened for comedic effect, of course...but *this* was uncannily similar to what actually happened. I laughed but also felt deeply unsettled that this was reality...I still do. It is stunning that a candidate (guilty or innocent) had an almost complete melt down, sweating, crying, shouting, truculently refusong to answer questions and rudely throwing them back at Senators.....and still was given a lifetime seat on the Supreme Court. It boggles the mind.

These hearings were so upsetting and honestly traumatizing. SNL continues the decades of making the horrors of reality less horrible with this sketch. This cast and these writers are as good as the show has ever had.

Watch the brunette lady, playing his wife, to Damon's right.....she does an AMAZING job not laughing. Watch her throat--you can see her stifling laughter 😂 She cracks half a smile at the end of his monologue.

Keeping in mind this was put together in 24 hours, it may be the most genius sketch ever made. Then again they may have cheated as this is pretty much exactly what happened. But they managed to make it funny, instead of inflammatory because having seen the actual broadcast it was pretty disturbing. Tldr: I preferred the remix, great job
