A r1250r is the same as the rs with out the bodywork and extra weight. I added to mine (an r1200r) a steering bar riser and a taller windshield. And it cost less money with compatibility electronics.

Bought the R1200GS in 2018. Rode it 18,000 miles in two years. But I never went off-road and wanted something sportier. Traded it in for a 2020 1250RS. Very pleased with it so far. The TFT is brilliant and fixes the major shortcoming of the previous gen of RS

I have a 2017 1200RS. Best bike I have had. Toured on it with pleasure. Did a 1200 km trip last summer. Did really well fully loaded. Does the corners like no one’s business. I have 25,000 km on it. No issues. I am 6 foot 4. Have the HP pegs. No problem for comfort. Great riding position. Hope you get her. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Hi Brett I'm enjoying your channel and the content, the BMW R 1250 RS is on my radar in the next 12 months as well, also another bike that may be worth considering and taking for a ride is the new 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX which is getting some good reviews, and also substantially cheaper as well.

Tossing up between the RT and RS. The size of the RT is its only weak point, I like to filter and not being able to, makes the RS so much more desirable. Great vid, thanks Brett, from the other side of Oz. ;)

I am test riding tomorrow, the first day out of Covid lock-down, but I already know I am getting it. Now I am just worried about how long it will take to deliver. I used to ride the Bandit 1250 (100.000 km) and I never found another bike that could match its engine, but I am sure the R 1250 RS does, and then some ...

@@ADVBrett I rode it, and I liked it. I only did some inner city riding so I didn't get to test it full out. But I have to say, it comes nowhere near the silky smooth engine of the Bandit 1250. I guess a boxer never will ...

I bought one last August and went on a tour to France from the UK and it was total bliss on this bike, as you say great for touring but when you want to put the boot down and shift, my god it moves and that quick shifter makes it so smooth. Love it and just added Akrapovic black silencer to make it even more sportier.
@ADVBrett4 жыл бұрын
Oh I bet it does!! I didn't get the chance to really open her up and that's why I'm really keen to do another ride with another company so I can really give her a good run. I just found her perfect. That Akrapovic must sounds amazing on her too!!

@@ADVBrett Well it´s fab. All technical stuff is perfect. What I really like is keyless....uaaaah great. What I had to learn was if you drive in rain mode, it can be dangerous in some situation because the engine does not offer immediately enough power to start in a curve, up the hill. I found out and now I know it. Touring is perfect. I love the cruise control. Hit it at 190 and arrive soon:-) I had 4 weeks Alpes and Vogesen with her and no complain. Even the side cases are top. The only thing is the seat position what I said before. On my channel you can watch me driving in France. Cheers & good night :-)

@gtr1614 жыл бұрын
@@ADVBrett No idea yet, stuck at home for obvious reasons. It has a bit more power than the R1250RS, but is definitely trending to the tourer end of the scale, lets face it, no one takes them offroad. The Ducati Multistrada is also in the mix. I'm kinda vertically challenged at 5'7" and 84kg so the RS is definitely on top of the list - although I understand they all have a seat/suspension lowering kit available. It's a tight 'race'... might come down to $$. The RS will handle differently too with the Boxer motor and low centre of gravity. In my opinion, they're all worth a look and road test.
@ADVBrett4 жыл бұрын
gtr161 @Teapot1 did a great review recently on the new Multistrada, have a good look at that. I love the small size of the RS and it’s low CofG really makes a difference. All up the RS is at the top of my wanted list right now!

Ok, I’m going to assume you meant “throttle the life out of it” So right now with the amount of police out and about it’s not worth risking a fine or license plus it’s not my bike. If it was out on the track with added insurance coverage then yeah I would. I’ll test ride a bike in the same way that I’ll generally use it on the road, I think that’s more realistic and appropriate.
