I remember how big Six Pack Shortcuts was. Mike Chang was even selling DVDs in Walmart. If his marketing was more honest (and if some exercises like the towel row were less ridiculous), he could have been the next Richard Simmons or Billy Blanks. Also, I love how you included vids from Scooby1961. Of all the fitness KZbinrs, he’s always been one of the most honest ones. Some people say that all Scooby does is say things that are common sense with exercise and wellness, but that’s the point. With everybody looking for shortcuts, sometimes what we need is a reminder of the power of common sense.

1997: *8 minute abs come out* 2020's: *6 pack shortcuts* "You only need 60 seconds"
@thomaslandcaster96384 ай бұрын
One thing he did do right was getting people to get off their lazy ass to workout. His selling point was to get a 6 pack by doing only little to achieve your goal. That sure was bs lies but it worked. People who would had given up now thinks to themselves boy if I only put in 6 minutes of workout maybe I too can get abs like that. It helped many people to try, and those people push themselves to new heights of more then 6 minutes. They discovered new things about themself, that they weren't weak but just had to start somewhere. If you can do 6 minutes, you sure as hell can do 20, 40 and over an hour. Sure it wasn't all truth, but it gave hope to many to start on a journey that they didn't think was possible.

@PGinfinite6 ай бұрын
This video is personal to me because SPS was the very first training program I ever did back when I was around 18, some 14 years ago. I followed Dan and Mike a lot. They are memories synonymous with how confused and lost I was when it came to training and nutrition. I distinctly remember a lot of their program, and in hindsight it was ridiculous. There were sessions where you superset chest press with about crunches. Or squats with jumping lunges. Everything felt like cardio, nothing felt like hypertrophy training and there was no way the program was going to make anyone bigger or stronger. I remember spinning my wheels for months on that program and never making much progress. I remember those silly towel rows too. Weight training was only 3 days a week + 2 days of cardio. Truly the remnants of a terrible introduction to fitness in my youth. I am proud of where I am today. As an aside, Scooby was a gem! He was also someone I discovered early on and was actually a great source of knowledge. Thanks for putting this video together Josh
@JackAlderton6 ай бұрын
Well it's sixpack shortcuts (lose fat), not get 'bigger and stronger' - weights 3 days a week and 2 days of cardio is perfect for busy people as the target audience.

I can’t really comment on his supplements since I only tried his pre-workout (Which to be fair did absolutely nothing for me), but at least in terms of his workouts, there’s no way you can call it a scam. I’m nearing 10 years of working out in a few months, and the first 6 or so, I exclusively used SPS and SPS2 to workout, and was able to get shredded as hell. I initially used his free videos on KZbin for the first 3 months of my fitness journey, and I was very happy with the results, which is what caused me to buy his program.

that website is the biggest hunk of AI garbage i've ever seen. it's kind of ironic how on a video about internet scams, you post a comment getting people to try and buy and internet scam. unfortunately I think some not-so-AI literate people will end up falling for this. If you aren't really that familiar with what AI scams look like, I'd probably actually recommend googling that website, Borlest (not sure if I can post links on this channel, otherwise I would), and looking at it as an example of something to avoid. Do you see what I mean? The plastic looking AI art that looks similar to art generated by Midjourney, a popular AI art program. The descriptions that look like they haven't been edited past the first prompt asked for ChatGPT. Seriously, ask chatGPT to write a 4 paragraph hook about a book titled "Super Money Attraction" (one of the websites first "books" I saw), and asking to focus on how the book will unveil the secrets of wealth, you'll end up with something that sounds pretty damn similar to what is on that website. This is all, I'd imagine, a ploy to get someone to spend 9 dollars for a book that either doesn't exist, or is just a series of AI prompts to get the AI to write some absolute garbage about what the secrets might be. I'd be surprised if the person who made that website spent more than 2 weeks doing the whole thing.
