Learning triads in every position years ago opened up everything for me. This really is the bedrock of improving your improvisation chops. From there, it’s just about learning how to turn the lines you build around those triads into singable melodies. If you’re a beginner to medium level player, you should watch this lesson a thousand times until you have internalized all of it. You’ll be glad you did 🤘🏼😎

I agree, and their inversions across all strings really open up the fretboard. I found just the 3 notes really help to create some space, they aren't so full sounding, and let another guitarist fill in those spaces. Also, the notes on the fretboard are super important. Hope you're well my fellow picker! Nik

Just today I saw a recent Corey Congellio video about triads, specifically using a minor, major, minor triad on the A minor chord in that example. 12 bar blues, the same thing: minor, major, minor triads over every chord and mix it up with some blues and pentatonic as call and response. Triads are very underestimated, or at least have been be me.

This is the way to escape the pentatonic rut.

I found Jack Ruch a few weeks ago and signed up to his Patreon. I love that he is so laid back, it’s like he can’t understand why we don’t all get it straight away and why we can’t see the fretboard like him. But he’ll go through it anyway, just for us. I love his sound and his voice tone is so reassuring and confident that one day I’ll get it…

jack is an amazing guitar player and great educator, i'm on his PATREON and always learning something new. These types of courses are great because you really learn the guitar and since they are really applied, this is very difficult, they are not licks to memorize and then forget. But There is only one problem, it is only in one language: English, there is no automatic translation simultaneously or subtitles. The same thing happens with other websites like Corey Congilio's, very good content but only in English. You should see if you can solve this because you would surely have more sales. all the best

Watching Jack's playing on that opening sequence, it appears that in addition to root, third and fifth triads, he also incorporates sixths intervals also, using the G string and high E string, and in some cases, the D and B strings. Also it's a great technique to strike a fourth interval double stop on the B and E strings and simultaneously hammer on the note that is a whole step above the note that's fretted on the B string..

I want to play like Jack Ruch! Jack's thoughtful approach and clear communication makes music theory practical and makes me feel like I might be able to create some music in the style I like. Nice Jack!

Jack Ruch is so good because he never plays too many notes. He just makes every note count.

HOLY..... I am one of the ones you speak of ... who would be super stoked to be able to do this! I am trying to learn the triads but am not there yet. Is there a functional print reference that can be used to look at for daily practice? *Older (much older) player here and it takes quite a while to learn what those much younger grab quickly. {just bought the course so fingers crossed there are references in that to help at the granular level for the old mind}
