Thank you for this. I played a loop on my setup and finally starting playing around chords because of this video. Ive been playing almost 30 years and still learning. This was incredible, especially finding the chords from same position. I always thought it was so impossible to change through chords so fast but I was finally grasping it a bit. Whats really funny is when I think back to the very early times I was playing guitar prior to when I was sucked into the scale world. I thought to play chord notes as solos, then that all disappeared somewhere in the journey.

That whole concept of sitting in one position to play all the chords in the song and the scales for each chord really opened my eyes and its something I try to focus on a lot in my own playing. It's definitely a work in progress. I love the way Jack so simply explains these concepts. Great stuff.

Just because he’s always play the right note, less but that’s is the ultimate concept.. That’s why I understand concept of chords tones now. -jack : 8 notes arpeggios switching to the next chords following his own arpeggios. Wow just because of that I understand everything, i know Its absurd but I mean, in recap just learn every arpeggios (A, A7,Am,Am7,Amaj7, Adim.) For real Brett papa teach me everything on his channel. Cause of you and that hey joe tutorial while ago you give that key to understand that tinny little something since than can’t stop improvised over . A looper pedal and few years to a point I can love how I sound. Much more than “thanks” for that contents. In fact you refine my English following you here in Montreal Quebec im French Canadian.

If you want to play melodically you have to yield to the melody. That means the melody is the backdrop with certain built in changes and precise timing. If you play melodically you are complimenting something that exists without you. That means you have to listen and compliment what already is. Running through scales can sound good but you aren’t complimenting anything that already exists. Frosting (soloing ) is delicious on a cake (chord progression) but try eating an entire container on its own.

Papa. You have an unnecessary dynamic in these type of videos. You are not the student. You both need to square up and face the camera. You get to relax while this guy explains things to the camera. Maybe a head shake here and there if it is a light bulb moment for you. Maybe an interruption if you think the point should be broke down simpler for the real students. Maybe you come in with your guitar to add to the lesson or reinforce a point made. The current dynamic creates tension for the you tube watchers comfort level, your comfort level and the instructors comfort level. Love your stuff. And appreciate all you have taught me. Which is a lot.
