Step-by-Step AeroPress Coffee Recipe
What You’ll Need:
Aeropress
1 paper filter
Kettle (set to 90°C/194°F)
Scale
Grinder (set to medium grind size)
16g of coffee (medium grind)
200g of water
AeroPress scoop or spoon for stirring
Instructions
1: Prepare the Filter and Grind Coffee
Place the paper filter in the AeroPress cap.
Rinse the filter with hot water to remove any papery taste.
While rinsing, grind 16g of coffee to a medium grind size.
2: Add Coffee and Set Up
Add the ground coffee to the AeroPress chamber.
Gently shake to level the coffee bed.
Place the AeroPress on a sturdy container and tare your scale to zero.
3: Add Water and Bloom
Quickly pour 200g of water at 90°C into the AeroPress.
Start your timer.
Let it steep for 30 seconds to allow the coffee to bloom.
4: Stir and Prepare to Press
At the 30-second mark, use the AeroPress scoop or spoon to stir gently, breaking the crust.
At 1:00, attach the AeroPress cap with the filter and twist it securely.
5: Press the Coffee
Carefully press the AeroPress plunger with slow, steady pressure.
Stop pressing when you hear a hissing sound, indicating the process is complete.
6: Optional Bypass
For a softer, more balanced cup, add 50g of water to the brewed coffee.
Serve and Enjoy
Pour your coffee into a cup, and enjoy!
