Hey Big R. Great to see you making beer. I like the MJ44, but what are your thoughts on also adding the goop yeast; if nothing else, it’s nutrients.

Hey Robert, good to hear from you man. Thats a good question and one I have not really given thought to before. My first gut reaction was you might be overpitching as it is only 17 liters, but did some homework and don't think that would be a problem. It might create for an interesting flavor profile, if I were to try something like that I would try a batch with one of the yeast first and then keep a bottle or two around and then brew up a second batch using them both and see if any difference? Cheers!

@@MakeBeerEasy thanks, Rob. I mainly brew all grain and for a 23 L batch I normally add 2 sachets anyway. I don’t think that over pitching is an issue but the question is like you mentioned “what’s in the foil sachet” and how will it affect the flavour. I’m betting that it’ll be US05 in there. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

@@robertschumann3840 right on man, for sure, with my brew pub we always used the brewer's friend pro brewer setting for yeast which is about double the mfg recommendation which as your saying works out to about 2 sachets if it were a 23 L. Always wondered what yeast they use, if they use US05 they should definitely say so lol, my other concern is always how fresh their yeast is. Cheers man!
