I bought 5L keg after being left short with my 19L corny to keg my 23L kits, great for holding some beer in reserve, or sharing at parties! Keg Land's product videos are great!

I have a 10l and a 5l that I have force carbonated my home brew in to get a 6-7 day turn around from start to tapping. Worked great. However they don’t last all that long cause I always end up sharing. Just upgraded to a full size co2 bottle, 50l kegs from the local pub, into an esky that has a large aluminium chiller plate in it. Then of course straight out the tap. Will still be portable, I just won’t get a case of the FORO (Fear Of Running Out)

I just looked up these mini kegs, awesome size! See that you're in the Uk though😢. I'm us based, any leads on similar quality over the pond? I'd love to gift my husband for our first anniversary. ❤

The ones in this video are from a company called Kegland. They're Australian but have numerous American distributors who should be able to supply you mail order. There's a link on their website here: www.kegland.com.au/pages/distributor Happy Anniversary :-)

when filling from 19l keg to minig keg under pressure, how do you know the mini keg is full?

There are several ways. You could weigh the minikeg on kitchen scales - tare it and fill until it weighs 5kg. I fully purge the minikeg then fill from 19L by releasing the PRV. When it comes out the top I stop :-) You can also get a little device that fits on the gas post that allows the CO2 out as it's filling but has a float lock when it's full - can't remember offhand what it's called but it's only plastic and quite cheap.

Nice video. Do you think the top screw on tops will fit the standard 50l beer kegs thanks

I'd think not. The thread diameter looks a lot smaller than that on a Sankey keg.

im looking to get into kegging but these seems great to bring over partys etc. cant see myself bringing a normal corny keg because 19l of beer s probaly to much :D but can i fill these from a corny keg system then store in a fridge to be ready to brung with? can they be stored with the normal lid? or do you need the lid with the fittings installed when they have beer in them?

I purge the minikeg with CO2 then use a beer to beer (two beer disconnects with a 3/8 tube) to take from the Corney into the inlet port of the minikeg. This reduces frothing. When full you can remove the valve and seal with the original cap as the top only has CO2 you shouldn't get any oxidation. The other nice thing about minikegs is they won't break your back carrying a couple to a party! :-)

@@MadeByMartyn thanks you just answered exactly what i was wondering. Ill see if ill invest in kegland mini kegs or some cheaper ones or both just to test, thanks :)

Can i fill it with commercial beer?

Yes! I have actually done this twice now during the lockdown. Take the keg to a pub or brewery and you'll generally get 4.5L in easy. Then put the top on any burp it with CO2 (This removes any oxygen which is bad for beer).

Nice Vid! I have a 4 litre mini keg that I use for transporting beer to parties etc. One problem I have is that I seem to get a lot of fobbing when dispensing. Just wondered if you have the same problem and if not, how you set yours up (pressures, tubing length, flow control tap etc).

Ever herd of a tripod? The quality of this video is horrendous. I appreciate the information, but it’s a hard video to watch.

This isn't the most steady of videos I'll grant you, but I'm not really a video maker! This particular video could very well have benefited from a tripod.
