Good games yinz guys! First commander I built for myself was Captain Sisay Legends Matter/Toolbox. Not CEdh by any stretch of imagination, but my playgroup always had to weigh the options of killing Gaddock Teeg or risking a Paradox Engine combo turn. RIP Paradox and old Iona. 💀 Props to Ernesto for going for a CEdh Nymris build; I’m working on a flash build to try combo killing with Naru Meha and Faerie Tauntings for a half flavor win in casual-ish playgroups.

I started when I got to college only a few years ago, and my first deck was daretti scrap savant with the darksteel/disk board lock. It was slow and clunky and honestly I have no idea how it worked at all. Now it has become yidris kci, and it feels like it’s bursting at the seams with combo potential. Love this format, and I love your content, especially the better brews giving me ideas to push my yidris towards semi-competitive!

I got into commander through buddies in college finding the format and it was during the time when I started to drift away from Yugioh. My very first deck was goblin tribal since I love goblins, and the idea that of swarming the field and going for the win looked very fun when I was looking at different decks to build at the time

I started out playing casual tabletop edh at a LGS near my highschool. I remember my commander was Ruric Thar and I built it within a budget of less than 20 dollars. As years goes by the power of infinite combos gave me a thrill as I started adding kiki combo lines. Fast forward today I'm stuck with a semi competitive edh derevi combo with slight taxes. What got me into commander was going home for a few weeks to see family and a cousin I'm very close too invited me to a get together with his friends to play magic and hadn't played in years prior to it, but remember alot of fun times playing it. It was not the sixty card standard which was the last thing I played before I moved away. Sitting down and told the rules of commander and was given the choice of the pool of decks from what they had brought. Some time later Commander Quarters appeared in my recommendations and it was his build for Izoni, Thousand Eyes who has since become Meren but I still enjoy it and haven't looked back since. Though have been tempted to back to its route and rebuild into Izoni for nostalgia.

Playing a friend's Krenko got me into commander. Specifically the idea of creating token cards on a whim. It was like having more cards on the field without casting them. My first deck was Marrow-Gnawer. He has gone through changes over the years and I like to think he's constantly improving and changing as I change.

I wanted the cards themselves to be *larger* for the viewing audience, so I set them up as I would a review. I made assumptions - that the audience knew the cards - and any that needed explanation the player would (generally) provide. I don’t want to condense them to fit all 5-to-7 on screen, as I would be squinting to read them. However, that’s my own personal take.

They are definitely easier to read with them split into two, but it was a bit harder to follow since I wasn't sure what some of the cards were if they were not currently on the screen. I think either way it's hard to get all the card info if you don't know the cards. I often recognize the card from the art but not necessarily the name by itself. Thanks for taking the time to reply. The content is great and the videos have been improving. I'm a big fan of the decks as well that you guys brew

i played a golos extra turns deck as my first deck the idea was to ramp to 7 mana with artifacts, and then turn it into 5 colors with cascading cataracts which was tutored by golos then i would activate golos and cast extra turn spells from my deck and go through my library until i won with some combo (I dont remember what the combo was though)

My favorite casual deck also my first Commander deck is uril the mistwalker And my favorite cedh deck is actually a little bit of a twist of how most people would build this is my chulane hatebears deck seeking to win through hatebears like meddling mage Thalia effects and so forth with the end game being winning through combat damage with my hate bears or comboing off and winning through vannifer/ birthing pod lines to find protean hulk sac him find shrieking Drake lotus cobra and grand abolisher/destiny spinner and off the pod activation of sacrificing hulk find tidespout tyrant then win the game by casting shrieking Drake with the chulane's trigger and tidespout tyrants trigger and lotus cobra to generate infinite Mana draw all of the deck and cast a removal spell to kill chulane and then cast all of our creatures in the deck followed by a very big finale of devastion x being more than enough to make everyone big and hasty and kill the table if that didn't happen because I went to combat already thassa's Oracle sorry about the rant but those are my favorite decks PS: chulane decks that I seen are food chain decks

My play group just started playing commander and I was like, I don't even know what that is, they explained how it was 4 people and 100 cards decks and I was like...what??? LOL but I built my first mono green freylise, and I still have it.

I've been running Thrasios and Tevesh Szat since he came out and so far it's the medium green version of TnT but I'm trying to use Tevesh as a sac outlet for protean hulk. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.
