Sisay + Paradox Engine is just disgusting in Historic Brawl, there's a pretty good reason that card is banned in Commander. So many possible combos.

Yeah my winrate with Sisay in the january event was about 80%... Same with Emry. As much as I love combos like this, Paradox Engine might have to be banned in Historic Brawl

Good to finally see content from you again. Any estimate on when your historic brawl decks will be featured? (I follow you specifically for brawl content, hehe)
@BrewersKitchen3 жыл бұрын
First of all, I think we might actually get historic brawl with the new Anthology, the card choices make no sense otherwise. I mean, I usually play exclusively historic brawl when it's available so I will probably make a video about it xD The only problem is the decktech. My Jodahs WTF-Machine had a very fucused gameplan wich was good to give the viewers a sense of what the deck is trying to do.

if you were to tweak this for best of 3, what would the deck/sideboard look like?
@BrewersKitchen3 жыл бұрын
Hmm good question! I guess I'd start with the 4th Urza's Ruinous Blast and dedicate a few cards in the board to some copies of Karn, the Great Creator and some Hate/Combo Pieces to grab with it. I dont know if it is worth to keep the "legendary theme" through the sideboard but there are some legends that might be worth including. Reidane, God of the Worthy against Red, Mayhem Devil ect.; Chandra, Awakened Inferno and Toski, Barer of Secrets can catch control decks by surprise in game two; Kambal is good against spellheavy aggro decks; Kuronos is cute, but maybe just include a Grafdiggers Cage with the Karnboard if you play it; Yasharn seems good; Koma seems good against control. I guess I have to play some matches with this before I can tell you if it's worth keeping it all-legendary. Kambal and Kuronos might be a little risky with that few black sources as well.
@fortress6213 жыл бұрын
@@BrewersKitchen Wow, thank you for the detailed reply! I ask because I only play best of 3 and this deck looks pretty sweet, but I wasn't quite sure how to build a sideboard. With some good sideboarding I think this deck could have a chance against the hyper aggro in historic, but we'll see. Thanks again, great video!
@BrewersKitchen3 жыл бұрын
No probelm! Funnily enough I was wondering about a sideboard for this deck myself after I uploaded the video and played some games with it again. The aggro matchups are going to be the hard ones. Reidane (the shield side) has put in some legit work for me in control decks. It also hoses random combos like Niv-Mizzet Parun / Curiosity or Locust God / Sage of the Falls. Shalai may be good against burn decks as well
@BrewersKitchen3 жыл бұрын
Update: Just played against Jund Sacrifice, lost game one and then won game two and three by hosing them out of the game with Yasharn, Reidane and Shalai. (two of each, I did cut Emry, 1 Paradox Engine, 3 Karns Temporal Sundering and Chromatic Orrary) Still not sure about the Karn board but is looks like sweet tech against mono brown and control

@e.t.64242 жыл бұрын
I’ve been playing a Captain Sisay historic brawl deck with that Paradox Engine combo. It super consistent and I pull the combo off every time I play it, but I only ever win if my opponent concedes before Arena times out. Tried using Kamahl’s Druidic Vow as a way to get the rest of our deck we can’t cast before timing out as a way to speed things up, but Arena still sometimes times out. That timer has ruined so many of my decks.
@BrewersKitchen2 жыл бұрын
Sisay Engine is such a consistent gameplan! Haven't played her in brawl for a while. Use "QQ" to tap all your noncreature manasources at once to save time with Paradox Engine. Once I got the loop going I usually tutored up Ulamog, Lithoform Engine, Helm of the Host (and stuff to cast for the untap trigger). Then use the Lithoform to copy Ulamogs cast trigger, the Helm of the Host trigger and the Ulamog attack trigger. This should pretty much win the game and is relatively fast once you know how to do it
@e.t.64242 жыл бұрын
@@BrewersKitchen Unfortunately, I play on Arena Mobile and I don’t know of a similar “QQ” trick for Mobile. My gameplan for the deck usually involves using Oketra’s Monument and Torin to make an army of tokens and make giant versions of Yorvo, Lord of Garenbrig and Shanna, Sisay’s Legacy.
