Isn't rule one of Magic that the cards change the rules of the game? Just watched a documentary about the beginning and Richard Garfield said the whole concept of the game is that the cards themselves change the rules of the game. So theoretically, he should have destroyed his library. Also, the bus card that let you gain control of all creatures, wouldn't they they, at end of turn, return to the original players hand with summoning sickness? Cuz he just went ahead and attacked. I thought that made the bus card that much doper. Remove all blockers, return them to as summoning sick attackers.

It's because they changed to using roborosewater as their card source instead of Urza AI. The bot behind Roborosewater isn't really any smarter than Urza AI, but the difference is that it's a curated collection - the Roborosewater team generates their own cards (or takes fan submissions) and then only posts the ones that are readable. They've also been doing events where they generate whole draft sets out of cards that follow Magic rules completely, called Spiral Chaos.

I really like the concept of Sleoing Hellwincer. A card that turns every creature you cast into a Lightning Bolt sounds like something you could legit build a nasty deck around. Though I think the most flavorful way to make it into a real card would be to make it a red Goblin Sleoing, the Hellwincer 1BR Legendary Creature - Goblin Artificer 2/2 Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, if you cast it, sacrifice that creature and it deals 3 damage to any target. Desert Bus could be bonkers in a some aristocrats builds. Your opponent won't really get to use your creatures since they have summoning sickness, but you can sacrifice all their stuff.
@N4m3lesS_1 Жыл бұрын
the text really confused me because it told me to destroy a creature when i cast it. and that cannot happens as it is not a creature while on the stack. Now this is peak MTG. These cards are absolutely hilarious. This definitely needs to be a recurring thing.

honestly as someone who hasn't played magic this video was really interesting because you had to actually try and work through figure out how the cards work and you usually don't get that watching videos about normal cards

This is hands down the funniest video I've ever seen on KZbin and I've been in this platform since the beginning. I was literally crying laughing. I need a set of custom Chamge lands.

13:27 technically, with sleoing hellwincer the creature is on the stack, so it can’t be destroyed.

We were a little busy being confused by how terrible our cards were, I hope you can forgive a few rules mistakes 😉

I combined cube with jumpstart. - A bunch of ten card "packs" with a theme are placed face down like a game of memory. - The first person to draft gets to flip over 3 different "packs" and pick one for their pool, turning the other 2 back down. Every future flip is only 2 "packs" (since remembering what was already flipped is the point). -Pick 5/7/10/12 packs (depends on format). - Put the special lands/colourless mana fixing face down as round 2 of the draft. - If playing commander, do a third round where everyone does a memory round to pick legendaries/planewalkers -Add nonbasic lands

6:58 It occurs to me that depending on the order that each creature in magic is added to the field you would instantly lose. Since every creature includes Phage, you'd lose unless you got something like Platinum Angel first. Then there's any creature that hits you for life loss / damage. Just something that popped into my head watching.
@Reverie422 жыл бұрын
Not quite. Effects that put multiple things in a zone do so simultaneously. Triggered abilities (like Phage) cannot resolve while another effect is still resolving, they go on the stack, so the Phage trigger wouldn't go off until later. Stacking all the ETB triggers would be horrendous though. Most likely the correct answer is to just stack your Worldgorger Dragon trigger over a board wipe. That will give you infinite mana and ETBs, which should be pretty easy to win the game with.
@Reverie422 жыл бұрын
@Random Username Yeah, I had a similar thought about all the static effect issues. It'd be an absolute rules disaster.

Love this series guys, keep it up! Great to see a familiar face with Spice8Rack too! love that guy. Also, Sleoing Hellwincer wouldn't kill the creature thats cast, because the triggered ability would resolve before the creature spell. Thus, there would be no creature on the field for it to reference & destroy :D

They joked that Evidard Goler would put "each creature" onto the battlefield, i.e. every creature card in the game. But if that were the case, you would lose, due to Phage, the Untouchable, unless you have something to suppress it (e.g. Torpor Orb, a popular piece in Phage combospace).
@fjordrig62642 жыл бұрын
Platinum Angel takes care of that
@Reverie422 жыл бұрын
@@fjordrig6264 I responded to a comment above, Phage's ability is an ETB trigger, and is only one of thousands you would have to stack and resolve. Given that you have every single creature in the game on the battlefield with haste, it would be trivial to just win the game before the Phage trigger could resolve anyway.

@imhoenn57102 жыл бұрын
Sleoing hellwincer is actually just really good. Since it says "When you cast" and not "When a creature enters the battlefield" it's actually just "When you cast a creature, deal 3 to any target." You can't destroy a creature spell.
@brianhall41822 жыл бұрын
Except it says, "It deals damage" as in, the creature you cast. But it's not on the board yet, so how does it deal damage?

21:21 While it is definitely a lot better for the sake of the duel to ignore the effect, I think it would make sense that the card would effectively destroy each card from your library individually which would cause them to be marked to go to the grave.

I have seen AI produce some really amazing, terrifying, surreal stuff in recent months. I can safely say these Magic cards are not among them :P
@thesilverclaw7349 Жыл бұрын
I remember doing this with only a AI generated commander, by putting the name of the actual commander in and putting the price in we got Ur-Dragon with the ability to instantly ressurect every dragon, including itself the first sliver iirc making it so all slivers double in power every upkeep and then some weird green thing, I think made it so it got +1/+1 counters everytime it killed these cards, were so broken, it eventually ended in a infinite tie.
