The yeast supplied with that kit is lager yeast. You didn't need to use a different one to ferment at low temperature.

Glad you enjoyed it. I really liked the Coopers 86 Day Pilsner as well. Both great kits. Cheers!

Yeah it's difficult to find space for this kind of stuff. I have my ferm fridge in the shed as I have no room anywhere else, but it's improved my brews 100%. Cheers!

Interesting, looks a nice brew. I did the Coopers Ceveza. Initial tastings were horrible but i managed to leave it in the bottle for 8 weeks. The difference was night and day. It's a really nice crisp light summer sipper now. With these kinds of beers the lagering has a massive impact.

I've not actually done the Coopers Cerveza, will have to give that a go some time (and allow plenty of time for conditioning - thanks for the tip!)

Looks like a cracking beer. I need to brew another Lager soon, as the last time seems ages ago. I've said I was gonna brew in the winter before and it didn't happen, lol! You got me thinking again about brewing lagers over winter. I don't have any excuse not to this year. Cheers!

It really is a cracking beer. Not bad at all for a 1 can kit. I think I may get a bit more adventurous on my next attempt at a lager now I'm happy with the method...probably in the winter months though! Cheers!

Great video, mate. I’m yet to brew with a lager yeast so it’s good to see that it does make a difference. If you brew this one again would you consider a. only filling the FV to 20 or 21 litres to bump up at the ABV slightly, and b. dry hopping using something like Saaz or Pride of Ringwood? Cheers!

Thanks! I didn't want to mess with it this time as it was really all about the yeast. I accidentally added too much water to this one but it turned out fine. Don't see why brewing it short would hurt if you want to bump the ABV, but just adding some extra dextrose/dme would be the way I'd go. A little dry hop would be a nice addition.

I've just brewed and tried my crown lager after 20 days bottle conditioned and it came out quite dark. I used 1kg of light dry malt and 500g of extra malt sugar. I wonder if I used too much malt and maybe some hops and brew enhancer 3 for a creamier head would've given a better result. Any tips? I do think the Coopers crown lager is a good kit

Malt extract kits seem finish a bit darker than grain. The liquid malt extract also continues to darken in the tin over time so that may be a factor. You could swap some of the dry malt for dextrose or try the brew enhancer 3. If it tastes good I wouldn’t worry about it though. Cheers!
