thanks guys, I will have to stick to novalager as I havent got a way of keeping the temp 10-15c for the diamond strain, thanks for the video and cheers🍻

The Novalager does not make a bad beer, just different.

I haven't done this one with a proper lager yeast but I have done it with Novalager and I agree it's better than the supplied yeast but still not quite there. I might experiment with Mangrove Jacks M54 and see what that turns out like.

That will be interesting, let us know how the brew goes?

Great comparison. I haven’t used Diamond but I have used Novalager. I really like the ease of Novalager and it ferments a very clean lager. However, I probably get a better final product with Saflager 34/70 but of course, temperature control is imperative and it requires more time. Cheers!

With proper lager yeast it does make a big difference. Novalager yeast does make a good beer, but it's different.

Hi again guys, very interesting video. I'll keep in mind the positive comments on the Diamond but with the Novalager I've heard other reviewers say that the taste varies alot Nova depending on the temperature you brew at. Certainly sounds great for those who don't have temperature control who want to bang out a pretty good lager quickly. I've just bought some so I'll go colder with the coopers lager kit I've just bought. Hopefully I'll get it right with our South Australian summer on the way. Cheers.

Nige here, it is just a different beer with Novalager yeast, not bad. I think the fermentation temperature I had with my brew was about 15 to 18 degrees. Good luck getting the brew done in the Aussie Spring.
