Ok , you have to stop making each video better than the previous one all the time. I've run out of words to convey how emotionally invested I am in craft beer and now fresh hop beer and the people who have the passion to make this all happen. Thanks again Donovan for a pure gold video.

@Donovan Kelly, what a great capture of how special time in Aotearoa New Zealand. A whole lot of hard work in a short period of time. Late March/ early April is a great time to visit Aotearoa New Zealand.
@donovankelly128 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot! The amount of hard work is really inspiring, especially when you include the fresh hops they organize with the individual breweries to make sure they get what they're looking for in the prime picking window too. When I come back, I'm coming back at that time 👌 Thanks for watching 🍻😃

Wow, Donovan, what an incredible documentary! I'd title it "From the Farm to the Glass"😜 - Bravo! I know I've said this a bunch of times, but you're truly, truly a master storyteller and a fantastic videographer. 👍👏 Even for us non-beer lovers, we've learned so much from you. I even had to translate "hop" into my mother tongue - talk about a linguistic journey! 🤣 I always thought beer was made from barley; mind blown! 😱😜 Watching this videos is like tapping into our inner engineer spirits - we love seeing all the equipment and the mesmerizing process of separating those hop "flowers" from the plant. We learnt that actually a whole plant was harvested not only the "flower".😱 And your infectious enthusiasm and happy face just make everything better - amazing! I never thought I'd say this, but when we vist NZ, a brewery tour is a must. 😱 Wishing you all the best, keep those cameras rolling, and keep blowing our minds with your skills and enthusiasm! Cheers 🍻 Lots of love to both of you💖

@donovankelly12 Jus seem to love whatever you guys do! Question: do you know if the hop farms have taken over from the tobacco farms in Motueka? I know the tobacco farms were everywhere there when I was little, and I wonder if the hops have been planted there instead?
@donovankelly128 ай бұрын
Well thanks so much for saying that 😃 I don’t know that, but I know Mac Hops has been around since 1900 and New Hoplands has been going since the 1950s so there might have been a few tobacco farms in and around the area!
@trudimclaren43018 ай бұрын
Ahh, so definitely different sites then. I do wonder if some of the tobacco farms have been turned into hop farms (or vineyards) - at least, I hope so!

One thing I've noticed is you can smell certain hops.. some smell mild and some are really strong... All it takes is an experience on hop farms to understand how much work is involved to get to that golden nectar. Thanks for showcasing our amazing region.
@donovankelly128 ай бұрын
Haha I had to be pretty honest with all of the hop growers, MOST of the hops I smelled were EXTREMELY similar in aroma and I couldn't notice a whole lot of differences.
