Good video, Dr Hans. I really like that you try different things, especially things that other brewers are telling us not to do. And your honesty is great. If you don't like something I know you'll tell us. But maybe the best bit is that the tasting is included in the video! I've gone slightly mad watching other guys brew a beer and then trying to find the video where they taste what they brewed. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much. Honesty is the foundation for this channel. If else everything I try or say will be useless. I will never blow my own or somebody's else horn. It dosent matter if it's my own beer or sent in. Though if I think someone's beer sucks I well let them know and ask permission to post the video. Yes I'm totally with you. It's like watching a cooking show that ends with the food getting in to the oven. Thanks again and cheers!

Hello from haylakes Your hops look great, I have to replant mine the goats or deer got at mine in the spring and they never recovered .Have you ever tried brewing with spruce tips I have tried a few spruce beers from Novascotia and have tried making a spruce tea to taste them it very unique taste I plan to try them in the spring when the new tips are still soft and the taste is not as strong. just wondering if you had ever try it.
@DrHansBrewery6 жыл бұрын
It was because of the deers I fenced the area of for my hops. Never brewed with spruce so far. But It is on the list.

After seeing your setup I can't help but feel like my first brew is going to come out horrible. I only have a plastic bucket and glass carboy. What is the bubble at the bottom of the fermenter for? Also, what is under that patch of taped material on the fermenter?
@DrHansBrewery6 жыл бұрын
You can brew fantastic beer in buckets and carboys. The bubble is for removing trub. Under the patch I have a probe which is hooked up to the stc1000 who controls temperature.
@jafarym776 жыл бұрын
Worry not, you can make awesome beer with just a bucket or glass carboy. They both work fine, important thing is to control the fermentation temperature.
@off_pudding4436 жыл бұрын
@@jafarym77 Luckily I found a spot in my house which is just below the temp I'm shooting for. I've made so many small mistakes already that I really wouldn't have a clue as to which one screwed everything up.

Brill video Doc sorry I haven’t watched your videos for a while but been in India. I was amazed at the hops as I pay £5 for 100 grams here ! Think I will get the wife to grow them next year while I shoot the rabbits! Was crying when you dumped the beer but after a few nightmares I hope to get over it. Cheers my mate!

It kills me how fidgety DrHans is, he played with the same hops, lifting them up and dropping back in the pail so many times. It’s similar to when he tastes a beer and shows it to the camera and spins it and shows it and spins it and shows it so many times and it looks the same over and over again. It’s like his body is on repeat until he finishes saying what he has to say.
