What if I told you that there might be a way to time travel?
All you have to do is wait and chill for a couple of centuries. Easy right? Okay, it might be a little more complicated than that.
In my last video, I talked about people miraculously surviving after being under ice for extended periods of time.
In this video, we’re going to talk about people PURPOSELY freezing themselves through cryonics- a fancy word which here means the process of freezing a corpse and storing it until a theoretical time in the future when technology has advanced enough to bring the person back to life.

Yeah you can't just reenergize a frozen brain willy nilly... while the tissue is preservable it's the synaptic connections that are lost. And those are barely able to be observable in any useful regard let alone measured in the needed regard to be replicated later. So even if you were revived you probably wouldn't remember anything. Learning to breathe and move again would also likely be a huge undertaking in a new body. It's possible it's just you would need a substancially more advanced and different system.
@jacobp.2024

Actually, this is almost 100% what will happen. Human cells, and fatty structures like myelin are mostly water. Water expands when it is frozen. Guess what happens then when they're frozen to "preserve" them? THEY BURST, or fracture, or are damaged at the very least.

@adamofblastworks1517
@adamofblastworks1517 3 жыл бұрын
Well, they could always try with freezing new bodies to thaw. Maybe grow a body with most of the organs, freeze it, and thaw it a few months later in trial runs. Or animals, I'm sure they will try with them first, even with how different they are, and whether or not you think that would be cruel.
@RobinCernyMitSuffix
@RobinCernyMitSuffix 2 жыл бұрын
@@adamofblastworks1517 they actually tested that already, in the 60s. I think Tom Scott has a video with the the leading scientist on the project. They were actually succesful and could reanimate completely frozen hamsters, with a make-shift microwave (built from a RAF Radar System and a timer). The issue is that you have to heat up the body evenly. It's possible with small animals, but not with a human. A human is just to big to evenly heat up everything at the same time. The hamsters survived, and they did live a normal lifespan.

To me... the complete opposite. The humor isn't befitting to any human who qualifies for the term that is named "sane". The animations are not even a tiny bit unique and merely annoying. The vids can be smaller by leaving out unnessecerily information, but no. Seemingly not.

And the cool thing is, we are wondering every day if she is going to live again one day, but the messed up thing about it is, she is pretty much dead. So, if she is ever revived, to her it would happen seemingly instantly! Yet, that technology is far from now, so it won't be the same old world. Probably very, very far from it, actually.
@MiaMizuno
@MiaMizuno 4 жыл бұрын
My guess is even, that reviving could mean that the brain has been resetted by death, like a hard-drive. So that the Person waking up will be first like a newborn. It could be that traces of memories as electric impulses could have stayed, but I doubt that. So if reviving is possible in the future, it will be a new person

This was *extremely* fascinating since I was recommended this after I had a highly realistic dream in which I traveled into the future around 5,000 years from now to find out everyone I knew (including my descending self and people that died before me) were alive due to technology. I've had really big ambitions even before I had that dream and it's a big coincidence that this was recommended to me.

Haha, if only! Valve would actually lose money working on it sadly, as odd as that sounds, especially cause we all know how well it'd sell! They literally make so much off Steam, that time spent elsewhere is a loss. They're also not telling the team at Project Borealis to stop, which is probably the closest to HL3 we will ever get. Luckily they're following that Epistle 3 story the Half Life writer put out after Valve ended his employ. Yet they're using the Unreal engine instead of Valve's next one, soo that just kinda ruined the dream for me.

But what if it's not the brain? What if what makes you _you_ is simply your momentary awareness. If you freeze all brain activity and then jumpstart it a few centuries later.... is _that_ still you? Or, is that an entirely new consciousness emergent from the shell of your old consciousness? Further, how do you know you are the same person from day to day and minute minute, and that simply the death and rebirth of your consciousness happens too rapidly to notice....... or, you couldn't possibly perceive your own "death" here because you are always perceiving it from the perspective of the latest version
