When I was an exchange student in Japan, my Japanese friend ate nothing but instant noodles. After months and months of eating instant noodles, he was hospitalized. The noodles caused him kidney stones.

Always supplement your instant noodles with fresh or frozen mixed vegetables, tomatoes and extra spices if required. Always transfer to a porcelain or glass bowl before microwaving. Then you'll be fine. But never eat same thing all the time

the myth of "wax" was popular back then, some people also suspected apples to be waxed to look shinier to increase sales, and people actually tried to shave then off, but the thing is, fruits do have a layer of natural wax produced by themselves. Also, most insta ramen was made with oil mixed into the flour and/or fried in the process, the oil itself takes longer to digest than pure flour, so do these oil-infused noodles. People who want to eat cup ramen can opt to take them out of the cup and cook in a pan, or just buy them in bags, those are cheaper too. And, what this video didn't mention, prolonged stress and chronically lack of sleep also make you susceptible to developing mental and physical health problems, including digestive issues and cancer, and prolong your healing process

JC was a college student visiting a Chinese restaurant. He got some noodle soup, and thought it tasted amazing, so on the way home he stopped by a store and got some instant noodles to enjoy at home. The next day, he decided to eat the noodles, and absolutely loved the flavor, so he continued to eat them for the next two months. Every day, he’d make a nice bowl of instant noodle soup. One day, he felt a sharp pain in his stomach, but he hadn’t eaten that day so he just passed it off as needing to eat. He ate some noodles and felt a lot better, but then he felt it again, and started to feel very overheated, like how he felt when he was at the stove cooking the instant noodles. It was a hot summer day, so he once again ignored the issues. The next day, he felt absolutely exhausted and broken like the noodles he would crush up to cook. He felt more stomach pains, and then it got out of control. He was starting to yelp out in pain, when suddenly he passed out and fell to the floor. His roommate heard, and walked in to find his friend passed out, on the ground. He immediately called for an ambulance, and JC was brought to the emergency room, where we are now.

I can totally relate to this, i eat the samyang spicy ramen all the time and the spice combined with the sodium gave a huge ulcer that bled overnight. Had to get 2 blood transplants after fainting at work. Scary stuff.

What kind of spice? I know capsaicin (found in peppers) don't cause stomach ulcers. If anything it actually reducees stomach acid at lower amounts (dosage makes the poison). Probably something in the noodles that gave you ulcers, but I would not be so quick at blaming the spices unless you got other underlying conditions that makes you more sensitive to spices.

It probably just triggered it.. I got intestinal problems by genetics and wrong foods just trigger it. I ate quite healthy and that wasnt good enough so my body started preparing for an autoimmune disease or cancer so I'm treating it with a heavy diet and herbal supplements. If I ate ramen for a few months, the same would happen to me. It depends on so many things what you can and cant eat, but its best to eat everything in moderation.

there are different flavors, there are soup-based and "dry" varieties that are meant to mimic chow mein or stir-fry noodles, and you even have different types of cuisine for each Asian country which brings its own blend of spices and flavorings. Japanese instant yakisoba from Sapporo or UFO is about as distinct in flavor and noodle texture from Indonesian mi goreng from Indomie as it is from Philippine instant pancit canton.

his immune system was probably shot by the amount of sleep deprivation he was experiencing. the high amounts of sodium probably gave him stomach ulcers and between the lack of sleep and the insufficient diet he was living off of, he was at a higher risk of cancer.

Fun fact: the inventor of instant noodles, Momofuku Ando, lived to 96 and was said to have eaten a bowl of instant noodles a day until he died. BTW the cause of death was _not_ gastric cancer, but heart failure.

So factoring out the instant noodles, you can easily see other possible causes that could've compounded the cancer -- genetics, poor health (he always stayed up late, the noodles were an _extra_ meal) and ate _other_ high sodium food, such as processed meats.

I travel Asia a lot since I live about a 40$ flight away from places like Seoul, Hanoi and Tokyo etc. What I have noticed is a lot of brands of ramen have heavy metals like lead and are not regulated in the same way as in the US. For example a ramen brand intended to be consumed in the US has a label warning of the amount of heavy metals including lead is high enough to possibly cause cancer while in Asia the same brand/flavor etc will not have a warning at all. They are not required to tell their customers which means people don't think twice about eating ramen all day every day. 1 or 2 of those every now and then is not really going to guarantee getting cancer but eating it every meal for years certainly will and that's why they are required to put that on the label near the cooking instructions for US sales.

Idk if I had any cancer, but eating certain brand of instant noodles lead to digestive problem that I won't shyt for days. I learn to avoid said brand now. I used to consume noodles at least once a day, sometimes at double serving, but because of the digestive problem I stopped. I totally agree that living in moderation is the way to go. We are blessed with so many instant things and convenience but still have to acknowledge that too much of anything can lead to consequences.

Yeah... Before I found out I had gluten intolerance and issues with yeast and msg (think blood and diarrhea), and some other problematic sensitivities... I ate instant pack ramen (not the styrofoam ones) for all 3 meals every day, supplementing with eggs, burgers, and sandwiches because I knew I couldn't eat just that. Gained weight as soon as I started eating healthy again. But I'd already had low energy and sometimes fell asleep on my breaks at work in that time frame and didn't really feel energetic. The colonoscopy at the time was inconclusive and I had to do an elimination diet to figure anything out. Bright side: at least it wasn't cancer. Lol

Noodles are extremely bad for you, whether it causes cancer or not. I ate a lot of it during my teenage years to the point my body started to reject it. Every noodle meal would always end in vomiting and diarrhea, so I stopped eating it for a couple years and actually learned how to cook real food. Today I occasionally it noodles (maybe 5 packages per year), but very carefully, like never more than one package at once and never with an "empty" stomach. Never had any trouble again, but I still feel ashamed when I eat this trash.

The crazy thing is that the normal daily intake of sodium of a human body is around 2 grams (it can be higher for some individuals), the instant noodles mostly has sodium equal or higher to the normal daily sodium intake, for example, a pack of indomy noodles has 2 grams of sodium! (Stored in the flavor pack of course) the instant noodles pack is small tbh so people gets 2 (or even 3 or 4..) of the instant noodle packs, so thats a 4 grams of sodium being ingested, twice of the normal daily sodium intake! Of course this can be avoided by sparing some amount of flavour packs or you can stop putting flavor packs at all but the noodle will taste like nothing.
