Netflix was a company that delivered videos to peoples houses

Redbox was owned by McDonald's at the time. And Blockbuster died because they had to pay more to keep purchasing movies when people would check them out and not return them or pay the late fees. Their capital expenses cost them more than they were making in proffets. So people stealing movies, and not paying late fees killed them. Also, so did the rise of online streaming, but they where already heading down anyways. Online streaming just finnished the job we customers started.

@@professionalfatherdoer The argument between xbox s and x makes no difference because one is more powerful. Most people are buying that because it's more powerful. not for the disc tray. Then again you but what ever console you can get your hands on now days because it's so hard to find them in stock. If every console is selling out then why make the cheaper disc less one when they can make more money on the disc one when people are going to buy whatever they can get. You also forget streaming content and pc gaming has been digital for many years.

Redbox was owned by McDonald's at the time. And Blockbuster died because they had to pay more to keep purchasing movies when people would check them out and not return them or pay the late fees. Their capital expenses cost them more than they were making in proffets. So people stealing movies, and not paying late fees killed them. Also, so did the rise of online streaming, but they where already heading down anyways. Online streaming just finnished the job we customers started.

I remember going up to the local movie rental places and "renting" like 6 games and just keeping them..... And they deserved it because if you were late returning it, you basically had to pay full price for the games/movies you rented and you couldn't even keep them so I got my revenge by taking someone else's rental card and getting as many games as possible and keeping them, you could trade between friends and shit and most of time they were trading stolen games too so it wasn't just me. LoL
