Most places around me are museums that jack up allocated bottles to secondary prices or higher so the common man will never be able to own or try one. My memorable whiskey adventure. Fellow 'Nam vets will appreciate this. I was a 22 year old AF Sgt stationed in DaNang all of 1965 (1st tour) with the Marines at DaNang. My tour was about over and I was relieved of duty to process and I asked the CO if I could go home for Christmas and he was a mean SOB and said no. AF guys got a ration of 4 bottles a month to buy but the Marines did not have an alcohol ration so we would trade our rations for steaks and such as DaNang was their R&R spot. I was 22 and used a ration to buy a bottle of whiskey. The only one they had was a George Dickel #12 so I bought it and took it back to an empty hootch as all the guys went on duty. On Christmas Eve 1965 I sat on an empty bunk in an empty hootch and destroyed that bottle. I survived Christmas Day but don't know how! That was my introduction to whiskey. Enjoy your videos! Keep 'em up!!!
