I have so much respect for Brian. I tried losing weight a while ago, but seeing how Brian transformed must have drastically changed his lifestyle, which takes an enormous amount of dedication. Seeing him become this healthy and doing so well on a carreer side of things just sheds a tear to my eye. I'm proud of him even though I never met him

I've lost 120 lbs. While I was losing, I didn't exercise at all. I simply counted my calories. I work out a lot now to gain muscle and get fit. Everything y'all have said in this video are my exact thoughts. Spot on! Thanks for spreading the word. I always like telling people who come to me for advice or just to complain about wanting to lose weight that losing weight is not easy, but it is very simple.

I still can't get over Brian's weight loss - I know Nick said he weighed 265 but I just can't imagine it (saw his high school band photo but that's definitely before his peak). Great work guys, really impressive

God, weight loss is such a godforsaken struggle. Even while watching this, in the back of my head I'm thinking about the ice cream I have in my fridge. Not gonna give up tho!
@MansterBear
@MansterBear 7 жыл бұрын
The key is not having it in your fridge. I'm horrible with cookies and Coke / Mt Dew. I'm like "I need to stop eating fudge rounds..." but if they're in th cabinet, I'm eating them when I get done with Rocket League at 1am every time lol. It starts at the store. If it's not in the house, you won't be able to eat it!

I've been struggling for a while trying to start a keto diet, and I always give up. I watched "That Sugar Movie" just a couple days ago and was amazed and saddened by how the guy felt and changed, and how he mentioned some people who have eaten poorly their whole life might not even know what it's like to feel good. Or at least to not feel terrible, without energy, to sleep poorly, and to be unfocused and lethargic. And now I stumble into this video completely not expecting the same topic, ashamed that I just got ice cream from a corner store. Thank you for doing this. Seeing your transformation now, Brian, since I knew you from IGN for so long, is really inspiring. Thank you, and hopefully I can stay with it this time.

Love this conversation. Funny enough, I was figuring out a solution to eat better and the balance between what you eat and exercise for the last week. This helped a lot and put things into a different perspective. I'm from the east USA and in a populated area, so it's hard AF to moderate what you eat. I just need a routine, and that book Brian mentioned sounds helpful.

This was a great episode. I put this up with Jose Sanchez with regards to fitness and nutrition. I try to go to the gym often but I know diet can be the fluctuating factor in my performance. My results have been sporadic and I feel like every 2-3 week I need to restart the grind again. It takes discipline and accepting moderate results vs big ass up front results. I need to work my hydration game, thanks for sharing Brian. Congratulations on your results so far.

Brian, I'm so impressed by the positive changes you've made in your life. It's damn inspiring! A question: My work hours often make it impossible to go to the gym, so are there good workouts you recommend that are doable at home? I've overhauled my diet and consistent workouts are next on my to-do list, but my time constraints make it difficult.

Still a great video to watch in 2019! I eat low carb, alternating between high fat, high protein, and anywhere in-between. I was one of those who grew up drinking a butt ton of soda in the 90s. Being in an Asian family eating rice with every meal was also what made me very plump

Great episode, nice to see an alternative topic to gaming once in a while. I have been on and off doing the Keto diet for the past 12 months and my weight has yo-yo'ed over the year. Now my big issue is that I have just moved to the Netherlands from the UK and find it impossible to "read the labels" anymore as I don't speak Dutch. Have to say though, I never feel better then when I'm lowering my carb and sugar intake and getting into ketosis.

Hey Nick I also saw the Netflix documentary "Fed Up" and after that, I was like, shit there is literally so much sugar in things you don't even think about! I mean even stuff like Clif Bars which is suppose to be healthy has an INSANE about of sugar. I look at it like Batman (lol), discipline myself, know what you put in your body, see how much grams of sugar is in everything, and the moment you have some food, drink some water afterwards! I pig out and have a "2 cheat meals" (not cheat days) a week (on the weekends) so I don't go crazy but after those meals, ironically enough, you taste the amount of sugar in stuff and its not as tasty as I thought it was before once you start to eat clean. Yeah it sucks driving by Taco Bell, McDonalds, Wendy's, constantly being thrown at you not to mention seeing people eat all of that stuff around you, but MAN when you get those compliments of looking good and doing it for yourself, I make more of an effort to eat clean even more! Great talk guys!

Great video guys and massive congrats Brian. Few things I find helpful to remember. - A calorie is always a calorie. - Thermodynamics rules above all else. - Inclusive diets always work long term vs exclusive diets. - Carbs are not bad for you, they're just easily over eaten. - Only way you store fat is if you eat in a calorie surplus. - Eat mostly "whole natural foods" 80-90% of your diet should consist of this. You can have small treats that you enjoy. - Eat foods you enjoy in amounts that are suitable for you. - Take your time to find your own way, changing dietary habits one at a time.
