@@theloniousratledge8835Billy Cobham is a "child" of the 60s and 70s (Brian Auger too). He became known playing jazz rock, among other elements. These re-recordings with these Italian musicians called Novecento seem to be very good. I believe it is a selection made by him, of songs he recorded. This appears to have been in 1976, the first time.

When I was in college I went to a small club in central Illinois and there was Brian and the boys taking a smoke break in the parking lot before the show. My girlfriend and I were thrilled to say hellow and see them up close and personal. That show was fabulous. Loved the seats just 10ft away from all that power, all that excitement and talent. WOW!

Just when I thought straight up stone groove jazz fusion like this died with the 80s (except for it being continued to be championed by Japanese bands to some extent beyond that era). This is fantastic, as with everything that Auger does. the true revelation here is the Nicolosi family. Never heard of them prior to this; and Rosanna's outstanding!

Saw both of these Guys 5 or 6 or 7 times , seen Cobham with Benson n Gabor Szabo, maybe the Jazz Crusaders I'm sure with some other greats, saw Brian and the Oblivion Express at least 4 times , Man those were the Days 60s through 70s when i was Young

@@carstenmanz302 The Blow By Blow era was Jazzrock/Fusion though. It was good, but not very original as most of the themes obviously are a variation of some other song by the Mahavishnu or something. Brand X had the same problem with their Unorthodox Behaviour album. Also trying way too hard to also make a song in 7/4 or something and with simular themes.

@@silverlicious2086 My favorites are Morrocan Roll, Product and Do They Hurt? Mike Clarke plays drums on a bunch of songs and that man is genius. They also had a live album which is great too. I got these old records from a man who used to run a record shop. He decided to quit and gave me the 'leftovers' (literally hundreds of records!). I still haven't listened to all of them, but there's some real gems there.

I listen to this every few days just to writhe in pleasure! Love that double bass drum/cymbal fill at 2:58! Again at 3:13, great little roll and explosive crash. Snare drums never sound better than this. Auger.. always delivers, playing the choicest leads on the B3. Super tight groove with a very steady Rossana on bass. Energy plowing through from start to finish.

Brian Auger was way ahead of his time. There were lots of really good rock keyboard players back in the 60s, 70s and 80s, but Auger was doing this Jimmy Smith stuff early on and then managed to blow past all of his band mates... and here he is playing with Billy Cobham! Wow!

Based on 48 year experience of fusion I think this on the top on the tower. Cobham is the killer. Brian is on his own as well. I got his Oblivion Express lp’s from 70’s.

This is new to me. Fantastic !! I've seen Mr. Cobham twice during the '70s : First with John McGlaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra, and once with George Duke.. I consider Mr. Auger's work with Julie Driscoll to be some of the best Jazz ever made.

You see, this is what radio can't bring You these days. Brian Auger & Billy Cobham ... Never knew this existed, found this after watching an interview of Auger 1st. meeting Hendrix. I have seen Auger Live in New Orleans in the 70's, even before getting into Cobham with Mahavishnu Orchestra. I heard Cobham with The Band Dreams around the 70's as well. I have seen Cobham a few times in New Orleans with different lineups ... Damn !!
